Why did Itachi tell Sasuke to kill his BF?

I think Itachi wanted to test Sasuke if he could kill his closest friend

actually it showed in the manga that they killed somebody to obtain MS but i don't think whoever they killed were friends...

if you are being literal then you are right.. cuz literally oro was closest to him... but in terms of love or care.. no.. you couldn't be more wrong... sasuke hated oro.. he put up with him to obtain power.. nothing more nothing less...

I agree, plus this show is not that literal when they talk relationships this show is symbolic. Plus Sasuke says that the reason he has to Naruto is to prove that what Naruto stands for isn't good enough, too weak, or stupid. idk w/e it is that he said. But by saying this he sort of says that if Naruto wins then he is right about revenge and hate and that if Sasuke wins then he is right and will go on to distroy the Hidden Leaf.
