Why did Itachi let Sasuke kill him?

If I was Itachi I would of just dodged Kirin. :flaw: we all know he could of, so why didnt he?

Kirin is an undodgeable attack. NO ONE can escape Kirin, unless they use a space/time technique, or Susano'o (Itachi used Susano'o to save himself). and he died at Sasuke's hand because that was his plan all along (can't remember exact details; get back to you later). do you read the manga?

He was dying from his disease, not because of Kirin. He wanted sasuke to Believe he killed him because he wanted sasuke to believe he was evil, feel accomplished with his revenge, and return to konoha. He used medication to Prolong his life

I'm not exactly sure why maybe because Itachi knew he was going to die anyway b/c he had that disease thingy that was making him cough like that...so instead of suffering from that maybe he let Sasuke get back at him for killing the Uchia clan....My theory is probably wrong, but it was a good guess right?

itachi wanted to give some powers to sasuke, too awaken his MS and MOST IMPORTANTLY save him from the burden of Orochimaru

All Itachi wanted is to protect his little brother...He wanted to make him go back to Konoha and more important...to make him use Orochimaru's powers so he could seal Orochimaru and remove curse mark from Sasuke...and he couldn't dodge kirin, he don't have time space ninjutsu...only way to protect himself was using susano...

Ok he lost to sasuke because:
1.He was already dying because of his disease.
2.He wanted to help his little brother who he loved so much, by letting Sasuke kill him, Sasuke would awake MS and furthermore he could actually get EMS.
3.He hoped that this way Sasuke would be satisfied, and would return to Konoha where he could live a normal and happy life.

Well, he didnt necessarily "let" him kill him. He had a disease. However one reason might be to relieve himself of his burden-Sasuke hating him (at and before the time) and wiping out his clan.

I think Itachis death with Sauske was a way for Itachi to continue on the legacy of the Uchiha, (protecting the village, and maybe restoring the honor of their clan) with out him being there to do it himself because of his disease, and unlocked or transfered the powers of his MS to his brother.

However Itachi took precausion and put something down Naruto's throught (Uchiha steroids) and if his plan failed Naruto was his plan B...I think

Agreed with for the most part, and slightly well.... wholely less homoerotic than oFuiinJutsuus version of things.. and seems to be more of a factual based version of things. I'll plus one rep you for being amongst the people who have realized that Sauske , and Orochimaru never delivered a fatal blow.

What I dont get and would/could debate, the prickishness of the elders left in the leaf. I dont see why they couldnt be controlled with Danzos right eye in to being pricks. Their personalities changed, from where they were standing there fighting with the third hokage, to distain and contempt with the 5th Hokage, and the way she does things like Danzo does. If their being pricks because their pricks then yeah I can see them getting bumped off and it not being that big of a big deal, but if their being manipulated into being pricks when they are not really then thats a load of crap. IMO

I like the Naruto as a plan be idea, because we know Naruto has some of Itachis power/ Itachis gift. But Narutos latent ability is to bring back monsters created from hate to the world of humanity and reason. ex Zabzua, Negato, Sora, ect.
