[Discussion] Why did God take 7 days?

He did not make Earth in 7, but in 6 days.
These days are figuratively, God isn't bound by time: "8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day." 2 Peter 3:8
Don't take them as days, but as phases, most probably it wasn't 148 hours
Sorry if it has been answered already, didn't have the energy to read all the rational and intellectual replies this thread provides.

I agree with this, plus I think there's just a beauty to the slower progression of creation, I feel like there's a deeper meaning behind the "7 days", like for example, maybe God was trying to set an example, liiike, don't be buried in work 24/7 (cause he "rested" or did no creative work on the 7th day) work hard, do your best, but always give yourself a break. Or maybe to say "perfection takes time". Of course he could create all in 1 day, but he might be trying to communicate "Hey, humans, my homies, don't try to rush things".

Just my 2 cents anyway, another way to think about it ~
