To punish people who step out of line and act like they're worth anything. I mean, those who do end up in hell have no one to blame but themselves.
As for why it's eternal, well, I think the reasoning is (and I could be wrong on this) that since God is eternal, and the sinner has gone against God's rights (worshiping and obeying him), then their punishment too will be eternal. This is why if a believer in God ends up in hell, they won't stay forever, only temporarily, since their sins relate to the humans they wronged around them.
Although, there are people that claim hell isn't eternal, and present arguments for why this is, but I don't want to step over there. I don't think it matters whether hell is eternal or not for the individual. Temporary or eternal, it's not a place one wants to go.
I mean, I understand that there is no such thing as unconditional love, and punishment makes sense, but at least prove that you exist before condemning people to eternity in hell. A lot of people in the world have never heard of your message, and even if they did, can't differentiate from so many other messages. It's not even that accessible, either. smh.
Then why doesn't God get sent to Hell? He does most of the genocides.
Yep, even for most Christians, the only way to heaven is to accept Jesus since no man can enter heaven with sin, and accepting him is the only way around that.According to some people, bad Muslims have the chance to go to heaven after receiving punishment whereas good non believers are doomed for all eternity.
(Muslim as being an example)

Really? Then those Christians trying to get me to convert lied?!Not really. It's a bit more complicated in Christianity.
He's omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent. You need to study the lore of God (capital G) in these three religions. Looks like you made this thread on a whim.
Its all fabricated to keep the masses in line.
all religions, more or less, have the same message:
be a good person.
and for those who dont follow the rules
they needed a way to scare the nonconformists into at least abiding by the laws of the ideal
