The position of president and the person who holds that position is a two-way street. They influence one another. Even a bad president deserves respect for the position he holds and a good president just makes the position that much more respectable, but the other way around is also very well true: if you have a president that's making a complete mockery of the entire presidential institute, well then the position becomes a joke likewise and that's what Trump is doing right now. He lacks almost all the qualities a president should have and has way too much he shouldn't have. He is simply not "presidential" and if you accept that someone like that is a genuine president, you make it that much worse because you are accepting something that should have never occurred as "normal", which is a frightening thought.
What is presidential? What are the qualities a president should have? In this regard I believe President Obama to be the golden standard. There are some things that he did that were very questionable. However, overall President Obama was the most classy and well rounded president in recent memory. He even receives praise from across the aisle in this regard.
As far as President Trump, who am I to decide who is a 'genuine president'? Who are you? He is obviously presidential in the eyes of millions because he was elected in the first place. You sound wild saying this. You are letting your personal bias get to you. Sure, you might not think he is presidential and you might think this or that about him. However, he didn't just randomly get selected to be the President. He was elected by our flawed(But still population-wise accurate) system. Without disrespect, what you say about him doesn't mean shit all. It's about the people who voted for him and the people who will re-elect him.
It's disturbing how much all the parodies that have been made about him seem to be barely different than the actual reality.
And dude, seriously? He has made so many offensive and disrespectful comments that the only reason we forget about them, is because the next one immediately overshadows the previous one before we can take in the gravity of what he said earlier. If any other politician would have said even one thing of the many things that came out of Trump's mouth, his career would have been finished, but Trump seems to be thriving on it.
Again, you are looking at the situation with one eye closed. Open both of your eyes and look at it from your perspective and from the perspective of someone who has been waiting for this for years. You even stated that he is thriving on it. That means a part of you deep down realizes that people are subscribing to his 'madness'. I wonder why...
His term lasts only 4 years, so there really isn't much time here to be taking things slow and we are at the stage he should be starting to show some results. And the democrats didn't lose the election because they whine. All politicians whine. The reason Trump won was because he was not from the establishment. Officially he's a republican, but it's a public secret his own party isn't too fond of him either. Both the democrats and the republicans screwed up big time during this election and made the exact same mistakes. So unless they are really that stupid to not learn from their own mistakes, the situation should be quite different during the next elections. Not in the least because I wouldn't be surprised if Trump himself wouldn't want to go for a second term purely because he got sick of it all.
-sigh-
So the reason he won was because he was simply not from the establishment. His 'own' party doesn't like him, so he won. Makes sense.
She lost because all she did her entire campaign was say, "Look at me, I'm not Trump... Vote for me!". She called him racist, sexist, or a bigot at every single turn. People got tired of that washed ass argument. It reminded them of the media who does the same thing all day every day. Find people that say or do something questionable or get accused of something and immediately shower on the holy trinity of slander.
I don't get where this confidence of yours comes from about him winning the next election, but he lost the popular vote with a huge margin from Clinton. The only reason he won was because of an outdated electoral system he promised he would change, which hasn't happened as far as I know. He has no reserves whatsoever, so if Trump doesn't yield any noteworthy results, he's kinda screwed as people who voted against him are seriously not suddenly going to vote for him. So if people who originally voted for him because he was different, but it didn't change a thing, well it's questionable how many of them would be able to take another 4 years of that circus.
I have my reasons.
And Obama wasn't ridiculed. I don't even get where you got that. Yes every president is mocked to a certain degree. Republicans and democrats continuously mock the other parties' president, but overall seen Obama was perceived as a well-educated, well-spoken, idealistic and charismatic president. Someone who personified the virtues of a true president even if you didn't agree with the things he said or did. Trump on the other hand is a complete caricature. You don't even need to put much effort into mocking him as just watching him being himself is like watching some presidential reality TV equivalent of the Kardashians. And if you want fake news, you don't even have to bother to create fake news about him as you just need to wait till he opens his mouth again or sends a twitter message. The chances you can find some random BS in there are quite high.
Did you ever leave your house while Obama was president? Yeah they dealt with it but people never failed to say how much they despised him. President Trump himself lead a charge from the right questioning President Obama's birth place. That went on for a large portion of his first term. Then they went after him because they thought he was gay. They thought he was the anti-Christ. They thought he was Muslim. They thought Michelle was a man. They constantly called him a monkey. Where were you? I agree aboutPresident Trump though.
Frankly the way how you are perceiving this is highly disturbing as it seems you have accepted Trump's erratic, irrational and irresponsible way of saying and doing things as something that's more or less normal and that it's how people react on it is out of the ordinary. It's the other way around.
In the end you're falling into the same category as not understanding where I'm coming from. Sure he says this wild shit every chance his face is in a camera. However, give him a chance with his policies and overall trying to lead. The last actual bad thing I remember him doing was the whole trans-gender ban in the military. That was a train wreck for the important people. It definitely sounded wild but stepping back from my own opinions and looking at it in a different perspective I can see where he was coming from with the policy. I still don't agree but I understand.
Some will say Puerto Rico but I don't see what he did wrong there.
At this point, if you have to prove anything else...he's simply just in denial. I don't see what the problem is.
He's just a pompous self-entitled trump supporter.For no real reason.And he's certainly a brown-noser...and he notices trump is a brown noser too.
Honestly, I think he just wants to draw attention to himself. He has to know what the problem is. He's got to be delusional. I'm incredibly convinced.
And trump...clearly doesn't respect us. So he needs to stop wanking trump just cause he's in "higher" position. They put one of the most selfish presidents in office, all because of those who lack foresight.Really reflects what's going on with most americans.
I feel like he knows what's going on, don't know why he's playing dumb. He's got to be an attention seeker...he knows exactly what he's doing, and he can't convince us.
