Basically, I'm trying to say that exposing younger children to alcohol at a younger age is a good thing. By creating a safe environment where the can drink limited amounts in a responsible way under the guidance of a parent or guardian, they can learn to appreciate alcohol as a tool for casual socialization. Instead, we have laws that restrict it and make it so the only way kids get exposed (and they will anyway) is by getting it illegally and drinking whenever they can get their hands on it. That is responsible for creating the binge drinking culture we have today.I noticed. I already know a lot of people drink alcohol when they're not old enough. But lowering it won't do any good, either. If it's at 16, then people like, 13-15 might start drinking.
I could care less about the age of alcohol drinking, I just don't want people driving under the influence. I put on drunk goggles before; it was awful! xd I had to try to catch a ball, but that did not work at all. I know some don't get drunk on purpose, it's just that they don't know their limits.
Notice any problems cause by this type of early-age drinking?bitch please i started drinking with 13 years old. but in my country we can start drinking with 16
problems like what? i don't drink regularly, only when i go out with some friends, and if you mean drunk driving it never happened to me or my friends, we're responsible.Notice any problems cause by this type of early-age drinking?

Thus the reason it's not okay for the gov. to tell you what to do with yourself. If someone wants to destroy their mind with cocaine...then let them do so, I will stand by and laugh... :rofl:Here is a thought. Alcohol is very popular because it effects "YOUR" mind in a very positive way. You think very positively. Now, who is anybody to tell you what you do to "YOUR" own mind? Now children I understand, and maybe to some extent teens who are still minors. But once you are 18 you are old enough to go to prison and yet they still tell you what you cant do with "YOUR" mind.
aaaah, Netherland, everyone would like to be in Amsterdam mainly, wonder whyLol, you're from the USA I guess... in the Netherlands you can drink alcohol when your 16![]()
see? i agree with this post completely, likethe 3rd part the mostWhere i live the age limit is 18 although people don't really respect it... i mean you have higher chances to not be allowed to see an 18+ movie (horror) at the cinema than trying to buy/drink alcohol, smoke, or try to get into clubs.
And personally i don't really see a problem... if you want to do stupid things while being drunk you can do them at 21 just like you would do them at 18... I think the only problem would be do drink and drive, which again i don't agree with the law in my country.. i mean you can't drink AT ALL and drive... and you can't tell me that after a glass of wine, or a beer you are a menace behind the wheel.
And by the way, alcohol isn't "bad" for you, otherwise it would be illegal... it only gets bad when you don't know where to stop, when you become an alcoholic... And actually some drinks are recommended for your health... like a glass of red wine everyday is good for your heart, and beer helps you when you have Kidney stones.
Not unless they landed in 1984.This is a very America-centric post. Most every other country has a lower age limit. The reason for the raised drinking age is that the US was founded by a bunch of extremist protestants whose socially conservative qualms have seeped into the fabric of our society.
I just can't help myself xd...which country in America are you refering to? Which continent? North, South or central America? I personally live in North America in the US, but there's plenty of people that live in Canada, also in Mexico right below us, there's also Brazil, etc. This is a very America-centric post.
