Animals learn as well.

We use to tie my dog up in the kitchen when he was little before he was house-trained. He eventually learned that the length of rope that held him was the only thing stopping him from leaving.

I cant tell you have many leashes we have bought, because he has chewed through them.

Point is, he recognized the fact that the rope was in the way. He chewed it, and was free. He learned, he adapted, and he progressed.

yes but these are just simple little things. I'm talking about major obstacles that no animal in a million years could over come.

nagato looked at the two youtube videos i posted, they are self explanatory

i saw the chimp one. and as i said, they make simple machines that don't remotely compare to what we have built.

What dude? Me?

I assure you that I know exactly what I am talking about.

Denial of the possibility of a higher being is just as ridiculous as believing in a higher being solely because a book tells you to.

I am not a part of any religion but I am not going to lay claim that I know enough to say definitively that there is no such thing as a god, gods, or God (with a capital G).

Anyway on thread I guess I am an agnostic, because I see most religions as a cop-out.
For most religious people, I see it as a way for them to give up responsibility for their own lives and the events in them, either that or a way to cope with the possibility that maybe when we die we decompose and that which made us people is gone with our bodies.

You don't need religion to make you a good person either, there are plenty of people who are great people who are nice and caring and they aren't religious. I've always found the idea of being good because someone else tells you that you will either be rewarded or punished a bit contradictory. Morality and goodness aren't forced, because if they are it is questionable if it can even be called "good" anymore.

So there are my reasons. I have more but my fingers hurt, and will stop typing for now.

But w.e, point is, we are all on our journey in life to live through it, some of us seek to do something meaningful(me), others dont care, but we all wonder about whats out there, and since we dont have all the answers, thats why some people rather be atheists to be on the safe side, others follow a religious faith thinking that will be the answer, and others mix in the relations they find in logic, religion, and science to come up with a good theory, but we wont know until we know,

so you wont know what happens after death until you die, you wont know how was the universe created until you either die(if theres something after) or some being from outer space with the knowledge swoops in and tells you, and you wont know if you can make yourself fly or do the kamehameha:cool: until you have a deep understanding of chi(and what scientists are saying is biochemical energy, but im not sure)

So, should we make this a spidy thread or end it:D

Why not do both?

Someone should end it with a Spidey/Batman post. Batman is the best.

seariously?, well articles that ive read, videos that ive seen, legit ones from two distinct masters on inner energy that use their practices in the medical field, the fact that there are temples in china, india, thailand(i think) and other places where i doubt people have been wasting their time training on this...and the idea that if we are capable on controlling this 'inner ennergy' that has similar properties to magnetic fields(when making a chi ball in your hands...which i did,i got chills going up and down my spine since i was freaking out), that exert heat(but not plain heat theres more to it), that suposebly can be used to create a field around an object and thus move, i was thinking, that if anyone were to ever have total control over this, and enough energy inside, a thing like a kamehameha might not be far fetched,....if you can control chi, give it shape, move it at a range outside of your body..and now, increase the density, the potency of the energy been let out to the point that it truly becomes solid or maybe visivle, then by theory it might be possible, i mean i think this is just the tip of the iceberg, despite that the knowledge has been past down for centuries, perhaps going over 1000yrs

To answer your first and main question: What do we have to lose by believing in a religion? My answer is simply, nothing, there's nothing to lose... however if you are asking us what do we have to lose, then it's pretty much the same as saying, "why not just go along for the benefit?" Now, I am not religious, but I do know that religion requires faith, not a false sense of 'belief' just for the hell of it... I believe a very wise philosopher once said, "those who 'believe' in God purely just for the POSSIBILITY of getting into heaven, shall be reserved a seat in Hell."

i know to some its like fantasy tales, but i seariously doubt that, idk theres something there thats all i know, and i know the idea of letting energy out of your body and moving objects with it instead of your physical body goes completely against the laws of physics and what have you, but like i said we dont know everything so i rather be open minded

that was just.... epic! it can be a dangerous road to practice such things though. and thanks for elaborating bro!

if you could control your chi well enough, you may be able to increase your strength also, as well as your reaction time. it probably involves alot of focus. have you heard that the eight inner gates are real? and that they can be opened.. <<< can be very dangerous, in all sorts of ways.

you know at one point i was wondering about the 8 inner gates but i never treid to look it up, and teh oter thing is that these people who would be considered masters on it, theyve spent their lifes since little kids, the only knwoledge i found on the web was about the chi ball practice but that was hard, idk why but the first time i did it, it almost came out a bit natural, but after that i had to concentrate and take my time more, i only do it from time to time when im bored though, lol

o right, and 2 months ago or so i found this science article of this microscope i think, that lets you see that you not only have your blood veins, but past them there are these even smaller almost invisible or transparent (i presume since they could only bee seen under a certain light)..(i forgot what part of the electromagnetic spectrum they used on that microscope but w.e) veins, that are, if i read right, for biochemical energy, but, idk other people including me are like...YEP! thats it chakra veins, lol

Just because we can build things doesn't make us the smartest. Dolphins are known to be very intelligent, but do you think they can use that intelligence to it's fullest while having fins opposed to arms or not being able to leave the ocean because of their reliance on water to survive?

We have the resources to use our intelligence to its full capacity, but that doesn't mean we are the smartest.

We ARE the smartest race of animals on the planet. Look at how poorly designed we are next to the rest of the animal kingdom. If we WERENT the smartest, we wouldnt have evolved in the manner we did. The ONLY reason we are on top of the food chain is our superior intelligence over all other animals.

I'm atheist and it's clear to me that there is no GOD (ignore if you practice religious beliefs of any kind)
Furthermore idk if you know your doing it or not but your somewhat trying to FORCE your religion on to atheists and that is what pisses me of people trying to convert others to their religious beliefs.
People are who they are just let them be and don't make religious threads they always end up in debates where half the people are extremists and the other half are completely just idiotic.
I'm sure your aware that these threads are pointless and just agitate others so just try to hold back on these religious threads...
