I've noticed this since coming to America, but why are the heroes from DragonBall called the "Z Fighters"? They're not called that in France, where I'm from. It just sounds childish and stupid.

It's a childish and slightly stupid show. What did you expect?

Saying "Z Fighters" sure beats having to say all their names individually when they appear on the battlefield, apart from that i have no idea :(

Simplest explanation I have is "they needed a reason for the Z in DragonballZ".

Smartest, best explanation? I have no freaking clue.

I can't remember if they ever referred to eachother as z warriors, sometimes they are called the earth's special forces. The commentator/Announcer for DBZ called them the Z warriors, Just a nickname thats all.

Just something made to fit in with the title, I guess. What would you prefer them to be called?

Z is a common sequel marking in Japan. Take the game Tenchi for example(A ninja game for the 360) The original was called Tenchi, the sequel was called Tenchi Z.

America didn't make Dragonball Z. So.....good fail.
