Why are Madara and Izuna considered the first to get the mangekyou sharingan?

I mean isn't that info wrong, especially since Madara and Izuna aren't the first to gain the mangekyou sharingan. The very first one to have the mangekyou sharingan was Indra.

Here another thing, how come no Uchiha even knows about Indra? Wasn't Indra with the Uchiha and Ashura with the Senju?

They're not. Madara was the first one to awaken the Mangekyo within the Uchiha Clan which Madara created. Before then, there was no Uchiha clan, so any other Uchihas that did awaken the Mangekyo before the establishment of the Uchiha Clan is irrelevant.

Since Indra wasn't a part of the Uchiha Clan, then he wasn't even considered in that statement.

Indra is way too old. I mean, he lived just one single lifetime after Hagobobo and most of the people didn't know about him either. And compared to his father Hagobobo, Indra and Ashura too are less memorable. So I'm not surprised they were forgotten.

You're wrong. Madura didn't create the Uchiha clan.

Didn't he? He was the founder of the Uchiha Clan.

Do you not remember the part in the manga where Kishi went over the Uchiha and Senju clan's history, and Madara and Hashi were both kids....and their dads were head of their clans?

Because Indra and Ashura were lost in history until Hagoromo's arrival in the 4th ninja war and shedding light on the matter.

He wasn't the founder of uchiha clan! Uchiha clan existed at the time of Indra and Ashurbanipal! Madara was the cofounder of hidden leaf village! And it is suggested that many uchiha knew about ms but didn't know how it was awakened! As it literary awakens in tragedy! And according to itachi there was always strife within uchiha clan Because they wanted ms but couldn't get as they need to feel regret and pin in order to awaken it! So I guess Madara unintentionally awakened it since he was very sensitive and caring towards his fellow clans members especially his own family!

I agree, he didn't create it, but that doesn't imply that he didn't establish it and actually gave the clan a name.

Even Black Zetsu referred to the 2 factions before Madara and Hashirama's time as clans, but they were not established to be Uchiha or Senju at that time, hence why Madara is the founder of the Uchiha Clan.

He became the leader, he didn't create it.

He established it and made it known as the Uchiha Clan. You're not a founder of a clan based on just being the leader of the clan.

Edit: Instead of created, I should've said founded/ established.

But he didnt create the name "Uchiha" or found the clan. He united and strengthened the clan with his Mangekyou Sharingan. He was just the stringest and son of the current head.

In addition to that. There were fights within the clan itself, where Uchiha killed each other and spammed Izanagi, which was the reason why Izanami was created. I can't prove it, but I think that was before Madara's time. Because he united them and after his time, the Uchiha lived in Konoha.

I feel you, but in the manga they referred to themselves as "clan" too. But that could've been a translation error or something. I think I remember now Madara being called the founder of the clan but I'm not sure what that's about

EDIT: My bad I didn't see your other post about rereading the manga

Both Uchiha and Senju hail the Sage of Six paths as the founder of their clan.
The Clan Of The Sage Of Six Path's Lineage

Tracing back to the genesis of Ninja, Senju and Uchiha;s thread of connection. Both Clans take the Sage of Six Path as their founder, and strongly inherit that power.
