The previous Kage lost, not the current generation. If the new villain is stronger than Kaguya, and the new generation can fight against this threat, remember, they don't have to win, but can just put up a fight and give this new villian a run for their money, obviously they're way past their predecessors in power. Doesn't take much to think about.

Well, you see, Naruto and sasuke aren't anything but some fodders who need the rikudos chakra to even be a factor. At least the kages stay true to their power and don't rely on the rikudos chakra.

Even without rikudou chakra, Naruto and Sasuke can both individually neg all the other kages combined.
