He wouldn't get into the majority of those dangerous situations, had Sasuke not been there. Itachi was worried about Sasuke and had to protect him throughout the fight. Kabuto himself even stated this. If anything, the fight would have been easier for Itachi if he were alone.

ot: He's a very well-written character and I appreciated his presence in the series.

no he didnt.this is a complete lie. when your in a debate there is no lying. you go by what you see in the manga.
itachi was hit by white rage, he wasnt protecting sasuke at the time. he just got hit.
itachi was impaled on rocks. again he didnt have to protect sasuke because sasuke was in no danger and can take care of himself.
then he got put in genjutsu. again wasnt protecting anyone, just got blitzed.
then he got cut inhalf. same thing as above.
sasuke saved itachi because itachi kept getting fuked up. no fault of is. he was defending himself and minding his own business.

If anything, the fight would have been easier for Itachi if he were alone.

if itachi was alone, akbuto woudl just be like "ok, ending the jutsu". done. he didnt because there was a war outside he was fighting.

Didn't appeal to me. Should have just been a proper villain.

no he didnt. he wanted sauske to be in in as much pain hate and suffering as possible, and to that end, tortured him into a coma, and eventually to insanity and madness.this is the worst act of cruelty ever done to another human being in the manga, and you call it protecting?

So, of course, with such a badass relatable character, how could you not like him?

because the manga insists in shoving his hero ness down our throats when we already know better due to seeing his crimes firsthand?

No snape is like itachi

snape is a vindicative torturing bully.
itachi is a murdering torturing sociopath who manipulated a village for his own selfish ends.
itachis much worse than snape since at least snape was able to pass crucial information to his superiors.

well he behaves like a dumbass 90% of the time, sabotages his own plans so he can be as needlessly cruel as possible, makes plans that are impossible to succeed,and then is called a genius for it. way to insult our intelligence kishimoto.

he plays a villain role while caring for his brother in the background to me he is a hero that the leafe doesn't deserve

hes not a hero but instead a socioathic villain who even when he realsies he fuked up, cant even properly apologise.
since it seems like he would have been JUST FINE with sauske living his life as an unstable hateful man just so long as he didnt leave konoha, which itachi knew full well was corrupt.
caring for his brother? does that include beating him into a possibly permanent coma?

Meh. His character is quite bullshit in ny opinion. He was a supposed double agency for Konoha, yet hospitalized some of its Shinobi. I don't really like his character.
