Testing on a dummy, ay? Fine with me
Oni nodded his head in response to his sensei’s request. It seemed as if the fun was finally about to begin in this training session. Oni smirked as he laid his white eyes upon the dummy summoned by Yuri. The dummy would serve as a stationary target for Oni to practice the gentle fist. Although Oni would had prefer it to be another human to test this art, a stationary target would do well for him to practice strikes. As he slowly began to approach the dummy, Oni listened to his senseis voice in the background.
Alright, let’s do this.
Oni took his own unique stance, placing his left leg in front of him and his right leg behind him with his feet shoulder-width distance from each other. His leading left foot was planted into the ground while the heel of his right foot was slightly raised. His knees were also slightly bent. Once his lower body was set, Oni raised his arms and formed an X, before drawing them back and holding his left arm out, in front of his face and his right arm raised towards his ear. His fingers were drawn inward with his open-palms held out, facing the target. Although this wasn’t the traditional stance, it was one Oni was used to.
With his stance set, it was now time to begin. Keeping his byakugan focused on the target, Oni pretended as if the dummy was an actual shinobi. Oni started off by throwing two feints of his left palm towards the dummies chin before retracting his left arm back and thrusting his right palm forward while slightly shifting his hips to add more leverage. His right palm would connect with the dummies chin which could potentially stun an actual target. Acting as if he was shadow-boxing, Oni pictured the dummy throwing a jab towards him. In response to this, Oni leaned backwards and slightly shifted his body to his right to avoid the jab. At the same time of his evasion, Oni would thrust his right arm forward, clashing his open palm with the dummies chest. After a few more practice strikes, Oni would then prepare to move onto the next step which was releasing a burst of chakra with each hit. It was time to get serious. Taking on a more traditional stance, Oni lowered his left arm from in front of his head down towards his chest and held it out forward with his hand open and palm facing the target. He also lowered his right arm down towards his waist, keeping it horizontal with his palm out. Channeling chakra within his hands, Oni began his onslaught. Leaning slightly back, Onj swung his right arm forward and shifted it up before his arm was fully extended, releasing a burst of chakra and connecting with the dummy with his open palm. The area targeted would be where a human’s left lung would normally be. Had this been an actual living target, a strike like this could affect the opponents breathing. Retracting his right arm, Oni leaned forward while powerfully thrusting his left arm straight, delivering an open palm strike with the release of some chakra, a little to the left of the center of dummies chest (where the heart would be located). A strike to the heart utilizing the gentle fist style could be very fatal if executed on a living a target. It could possibly result in death or the stoppage of blood flow although a weak strike would probably only bring the victims breathing to a temporary halt. A drop of sweat dripped from the forehead of Oni as he proceeded onto his next move. Quickly bringing his legs together, Oni pushed off the ground with his feet, leaping into the air above the dummy. While airborne, Oni would hold his right arm back and just before his landing, would thrust his arm forward while expelling chakra from his right hand. His right palm would connect with the top of the dummies head or the brain of a living target. Severe strikes to the brain would result in death, concussions, or loss of conscious. After delivering the blow and landing on the ground, Oni glanced over at his sensei.
Should I continue?
