Our clan, the Hyuga is one of the few clans that originates in the village of Konohagakure. We are descendants of the Otsutsuki clan. The clan is split into two houses, the main and branch. The main house can be compared to royalty while the branch can be considered the guards because the main house runs the family while the branch protects it.
Hyuga’s are born with a dojutsu kekkei genkai known as the Byakugan. The Byakugan is categorized as one of the three great eye techniques. Wielders of the byakugan have distinctive white eyes with no visible signs of pupils. When the byakugan is activated by a Hyuga, veins bulge out from their temple, making us look even fiercer. Unlike the other pairs of “great eyes”, Hyugas are born with the byakugan therefore no method of awakening, like with the sharigan is necessary. The Byakugan gives its user an almost 360 degree field of vision, excluding one blind spot at the back of our neck. Like other doujutsus, the byakugan allows us to see chakra and chakra flow of others as well as determine when a genjutsu is being used. The circulatory system and the 361 chakra points are also visible to us with the Byakugan. We wielders of the white eye are able to zoom in or out to focus on objects and see through most solid objects as well as distinguish between a clone and the authentic. Another skill that the byakugan brings us Hyugas is the ability to follow high-speed movements that may occur around us. The byakugan can be activated through the use of hand seals or if the user is skilled (ranked) enough, without any set-up at all.
Along with the Byakugan, us Hyugas are known to use a unique style of combat known as the gentle fist, which is focused on attacking the body’s chakra pathway system. By injecting some chakra into our strikes when using the style of combat, we are able to internally damage a foe. By targeting the 361 points, skilled Hyuga’s who have practiced the gentle fist style can manipulate others chakra through their strikes by increasing or even disrupt an opponent’s chakra flow. Gentle fist also serves some other purposes, such as defending or supporting others.
