Jiraiya would win with no problem. Like stated by brow : there were needed 6 pains to kill jiraiya when kakashi got killed just by 2...

First of all Itachi Beated Kakashi Without problems but chose not to fight Jiraiya. And all six of the pains where needed Too beat Jiraiya an only too for kakashi. Plus Jiraiya has sage mode

lol of kakashi is a genius but he would get sooooooooooooooooooooooo badly uber pwnd by jiraiya, you just cant compare them I mean jiraiya was up against 6 pains and killed 3 but Kakashi was against one and a half with some other people and only killed one than he got killed (dont be angry kakashi is awesome but at this point there are A LOT of stronger characters even if jiraiya is dead)

This comparison is so unfair kakashi i guess should be compared to his rival maito guy ...Jiraiya is one of the legendary sannin ya he jokes around but ...i he is very strong as has been told by many itachi took kakashi on a ride to tsukoyomi and see what happened to him...and itachi then clearly stated that the most he could do while fighting with jiraiya would be end it in a stalemate...

Jiraiya.Why?If you remember when Naruto went to find Tsunade and Kisame and Itachi atacked Konoha.That is when Kisame said that they no mach up for Jiraiya and if Jiraiya is stronger than Itachi or Kisame it is obvious that hi is stronger than Kakashi (Kakakshi is no mach up to Itachi or Kisame)

The man is a genius with expertise in sealing, ninjitsu and senjutsu, he was able to fight the likes of Itachi and Kisame who even among S class criminal considered to be strong.

Comparing Kakashi to Jiraiya is not fare on either of them; it’s like comparing a heavy weight to a feather weight, which simply cannot be done because they’re in two different leagues.
