But in reality when you dont know pains secret (like jiraiya) youre up against one tough opponent, the entire village of konoha even with jiraiyas information about pains fighting styles got totally destroyed.

The 4th fought madara, not the kyuubi.

even the 1st didnt fight the fox, the 1st fought madara while the tailed beasts duked it out.

It stated the fox has near infinite chakra and can destroy a mountain with one tail.

No ninja can fight against the fox, not even madara pain and yondaime working together could do that, yondaime meant he fought tobi/madara hence why he said "HE saw through my moves" after stating "the man in the mask", the sentence structures suggest he means madara.

And it never states that the fox attacked and THEN madara came into yondaimes sight, yondaime couldve been fighting madara for ages and madara used the fox as a trump move.

Theres no definitive proof he fought tobi or kyuubi, but the sentence structure suggests he fought tobi.

And I would add that the difference between Pain and Yondaime aint much. Yondaime would give Pain shit. The reasoning is that Naruto in Sage mode handled pain pretty well. Until Pain stuck his black rod that is .. And Yondaime had incredible jutsus to add to his sage mode.

If Yondaime knew Pain's secret i think he would ultimately win after an epic battle ( but not by much)

If Yondaime starts the fight with Pain with no prior knowledge about his abilities i would have to say Pain would get him !

Pain sounds so easy to beat, uhh?
Each body has its own realm (meaning, they Kickas* in every department) The chakra can be transmitted involintary, think about how sick that is. On the other side Minato ended up sacrificing his life to stop the Kyuubi alone. Does not have his son's stamina, can't make anything as powerfull as the FRS.
Yet he falls in this conversation, and where anything can happen.

according to the lates manga i'd say madara.
