Anyone remember in 2012 (I think) when the base literally went to war? It was the senju Uzumaki peace squad verses the uchiha club (can't remember their name.. I was in senju haha). Was an era of intense debate, some of which was actually pretty good.

Yeah,i feel the same sometimes. Like when thinking back on the story. For example,i wonder how the base was when chapter 647 came out - Obito was bullying Naruto,and he was down on the ground crying in the middle of war while people were dying from the God Tree. Everyone was losing hope,even Hashirama couldn't motivate them to continue fighting, then in comes Sasuke slashing a huge chunk of the God Tree bringing back everyone's hope, inspiring the whole alliance.
