Kakashi is for sure one of my fav characters as hinata is. Although, if you remember, kishi said that two huge characters of konoha will die (jiraya and kakashi I believe, as jiraya was still alive at the time of this interview). Hope neither of them dies, but choosing between one or another, hinata, as kakashi, even being a pretty charismatic character, already did a lot for the story until this point. Another is that I always considered the rookie 9 as the main characters and I want to see them all on the future of the series, otherwise I'll be very pissed.
By the way, between everyone, I still prefer chouji's father to be killed again for the sake of both hinata and kakashi, hehehe.

That's the point, until now, kishi wanted to show us the old ones giving their lifes for the young ones for their belief that they?re the future of the shinobi world, remember that thing about the true king Asuma was talking about? It's worth to sacrifice a pawn for the king, the king is I believe, the new generation, the young ones that's still not "contamined" by the difficulties and sadness of the ninja world. If he kills hinata, he'll be going against everything he wanted us to believe.

this is true but kakashi is like 29 hes not technically of the older generation i think... hes like 13 years older than naruto or some such... idk were kishi is going with this but kakashi was a beast and if he truly is dead he along with many noble shinobi such as sarutobi asuma, sarutobi hiruzen, noname jiraiya, Yondaime hokage, shodaime hokage, nidaime hokage. he and these notable shinobi had a good run through life...

Personally if there was actually a choice between the two, I would have to say Kakashi... I see more in future chapters for Hinata than I do for Kakashi. It's my belief that kakashi has outlived his usefulness, and it's time for him to die so naruto can grow up a bit more. (I just hope it doesnt turn naruto emo o.o)
