Oh I see what you meant. But your view is so broad, many characters become very important when you look at it that way.

True, but not many characters have had as much of an impact to the narutoverse...the only ones I could think of are SO6P and sons, and Hashirama, Minato

especially when you compare Itachi to Madara

just because it's an assumption doesn't mean it's not a logical one.....it's honestly hard comparing two different lives in two different periods of time

but in the end, Madara was the one who left the mark in history and will always be remembered

he was the first to awaken the MS, EMS, and 2nd to obtain the rinnegan....he awakened the ten tails, defeated the 5 kage, planned the capture of the bijuu and world war, and stole Hashi's DNA to enhance his abilities and prolong his life

his actions was what influenced the Obito and the Uchiha massacre, influencing Itachi's life, influencing Sasuke's life, influencing Naruto's life and Minato's death.......

idk how that doesn't make him the greatest Uchiha

He is obviously very intelligent to achieve all that

So now to another point, ok i guess.

First Itachi never wanted to be remembered, he didnt seek to leave a mark nor recognition.

Itachi beats Madara in everything Sharingan wise except obtaining EMS, which he did not wanted, and if you go by logical assumtions most of the people would agree EMS Itachi would beat the crap of EMS Madara. But Itachi wasnt power hungry like that.

The thread is about the greatest Uchiha not the strongest one, and strength and raw power is the only thing Madara has over Itachi.

Defeating the 5 kage in an a improved Edo condition with the Rin'negan and Mokuton, isnt a display of skill and greatness just power.

Madara and everyone would agree is a sore loser who refused to die to continue his own plan of hatred, using an a influenciable damaged Uchiha as his pawn. He is just a powerfull ghost from the past, he seeks greatness but he shall never achieve it.

Ok well here's an analogy that fits

Ceasar's rise to power was based off greed and glory, made sure to use everything to his advantage when taking over the senate....his army, bribes, barbarians, and keeping his distance from those who might betray him

He instead aimed to change Rome from a republic, having the voice of many, to him being in complete control

The senate and Brutus(even though they feared for their own positions) saw him as a tyrant and a usurper....taking away the voice of many and replacing it with one will

Yet who is known to be greater? Ceasar or Brutus?

Known to be greater doesnt mean it is. Known is subjective and the analogy is good because we both can agree the fact that Brutus was greater because of that information.

I disagree....because without Ceasar, the Roman empire would not have been as glorious as we know it to be

If Brutus had his way, Augustus would never become emperor and would have never brought Rome to glory through much sacrifice, war, and reap all the riches.

Even though Ceasar did it all because of greed, he spoiled the citizens, making just about everyone's lives better....which is why he had so much support

Ceasar laid the foundation, he was smart, and his goal was achieved and thrived

just like Madara...he made a goal, it was achieved thus far

what is greatness? It's not just being a good person as you make Brutus or Itachi out to be

the definition of greatness is to be distinguished, influential, powerful, grand, superior, eminent, etc

and by that definition...Madara is the greatest Uchiha
