i love itachi don't get me wrong here but pein would win in a battle but in coolness it would be a draw

I personally like Pain better... but I'd have to say the Sharingan would beat the rinenngan in this case because Itachi would figure out which one of the Pains was reviving the rest of them and then would just use the Amaterasu on him... And, of course, he would send the rest into a genjutsu and kill them all eaily. Wouldn't be that great of a fight.... but yeah... Itachi would win

hmmm? This is an interesting one and both of them are brilliant characters and favorites of mine. If i were to choose one it would be Pein. Why? Because he is the leader of Akatsuki, if he was weaker than Itachi, they could've overthrown him or Itachi could've killed all Akatsuki and end them from getting the tailed beats. I don't think Pein's weakness was genjutsu, he was just surprised someone like Jiraya knew and was glad he knew his secret (Its like naruto doing a genjutsu everyone would be surprised). If they both fought Pein would know Itachi is a master in genjutsu and battle more wisely and professional against a master genjutsu. I'm also pretty certain that if Itachi caught one in a genjutsu they all wouldn't be in it. It's like saying Naruto resengan one they all should get hit.

nice theory but, Jiraya put one of them in a Genjutsu and they all were in it. There's proof. and Pein wasn't leader... Everyone get that through your head... Pain was like a poster/puppet. A very good one also. Madara was and always will be. Also when pein said i thought we dodge that? When naruto punched him.. They share the same vision, So i'm pretty sure Itachi could put them all in a genjutsu.

Very well put.
But would Tskuyomi actually Disable a Path of Pein....they are just animated zombies basically...
He could use Genjutsus then just walk around cutting their heads off lol.

they all get into genjutsu theres proof, and also he disables the main pain the rest are jokes against his teleport like speed (lets face it the main pain is awesome (yahiko, shinra tensei,...) but the rest suck), I like them both very much but in my opinion Itachi would win
and he also knows a lot about Pain
and Nagato is the leader because he helped ˝˝form˝˝ akatsuki (still hes just madaras puppet) and itachi never even wanted to overthrow him

people people stop underrating the rinnengan the ninja that created had one of the pairs and it is said that rinnengan is stronger than saringan in all of the ways....and nagato wasn't a puppet he did what he wanted to do get "peace" and if he was a puppet why would back fire on madara?
