Who would have made a better 5th Hokage?

tsunade was perfect for the job. MAYBE the previous hokage would have stopped pain where he stood, but Tsunade minimised loss of life which neither Jiraiya, Kakashi, Itachi, or Orochimaru would have been able to do as they would all lose badly to Pain 1v1, although with the village behind them maybe they could prevail. Tsunade was unlucky in that Team Gai and Naruto were both out of the village, plus Danzou and the root stood out of it purposefully. at any rate, Pain was not the type of opponent the hokage just goes out and defeat, as all his jutsu cause massive destruction to the village. so tsunade's healing and information sharing efforts were well placed.

plus it was due to her efforts that the knowledge on Pain was transferred to Naruto. Kakashi has it in him to be a great hokage imo, but not against an opponent like Nagato.

Apparently none of these ones. They were in the village when the fifth hokage were to be chosen.
Jiraiya and Tsunade were the best candidates. I still do believe Tsunade is a better hokage than Jiraiya would have been.

^ if Tsunade's slugs saved the shinobi from that shinra tensei I don't think rubble would kill them lol. if Naruto hadn't shown up, Pain would simply have left, I don't remember if Pain found out where Naruto was but he clearly wasn't in the village.

during pain invasion tsunade hasnt done anything that can be praised.
ultimately naruto beat 6paths of pain & convince nagato 2 revive others.
so even if shinobi died during pain arc naruto can bring them back wit d help of nagato.

at least she didnt abbandon her village like Danzo,and Katsuyu was a factor when Shinra Tensei was used,saved a lot of lives.
