I've never done gym work out. But, I have been active with my choice of sport for years. I'm currently doing Yoga though. Kinda interesting. You may not see it as hyper as any other cardio or muscular building exercises but, it does boost them up.
Also, If you have been trying hard to loose weight or trim down yourself with those heavy exercises and find no result or non-lasting results, try Yoga, I've read somewhere that there are people whose body interprets strenuous exercise as stress. In response, the body stops (a certain component that burn fats) from burning fats.
I don't really have that trimmed down kind of body, nor do I have the strength and endurance of a boxer, but, I am able to sustain myself with the sport I am in.xd
