Who will teach Sarada genjutsu ?

Shisui was his teacher when he was in ANBU but I'm talking before that when he was still genin. Even though Itachi was captain by 13 he still had to go be a genin first and Kurenai would've been his teacher/mentor/supervisor at that time.

Iirc Shisui was actually his teacher before he became Anbu. Kurenai wasn't a Jounin at that time seeing as tho kiba and co was her 1st time leading a team.

Regarding the Kakashi one, it makes me think maybe the filler episode on him working under Kakashi may have partly canon. It makes sense that the ANBU captaincy would've been passed down from Lakashi onto Itachi.

I was thinking the same. Plus kakashi was pretty well established at the time. It's not unbelievable that given the age/rank difference at the time in anbu that itachi might of done a mission or so under kakashis leadership

I don't think it was her first time with a team

while Kakashi was in Anbu, Gai, Asuma, and Kurenai were teachers for genin squads

in a filler arc we saw that they tried to have Kakashi be a sensei as well since the Anbu stuff was destroying him

Kishi really should've just focused on prequel series instead of creating Gaiden and letting the good storylines be filler

No he wasn't, you're confusing mentor with teacher. Shisui was a mentor who Itachi would pracitce genjutsu with during their free time, he wasn't the official teacher.

But I'm talking about teacher assigned by the village like Gai for Neji and Lee, Kakashi for Sasuke and Naruto.

The village always assigns a specific teacher depending on the shinobi's talent, as a genjutsu user the only valid candidate to be Itachi's genin teacher that we know of was Kurenai.

Itachi and Kakashi back-story was literally the only filler I've enjoyed and wished to be canon. SP did a really good job for once.

Agreed, I'm convinced the only reason she's not getting any attention in the anime is cause she's busy teaching herself jutsu like every Uchiha prodigies.

Well this scan here kinda shows that she was new at being a Jounin. Chunin rank don't have teams but they can lead a team.

You know a mentor can also be someone's teacher right? Also Kurenai wasn't a Jounin at that time so she couldn't be anyone's sensei.

Maybe Kurenai will start her out or possibly Kurenai's Daughter and then she will learn from her dad, or possibly Kakashi. I just hope that she develops great throughout the story.
