Yes, but the hokage is almost never in action, the hokage most of the time is in his desk organizing the village, not fighting, thats why the job would be perfect for shikamaru, not naruto

First of all, you don't know if Kishi is intending to make Naruto a Hokage. U_U

The Story-line that Kishi is laying down for us, you have 50/50% change of Naruto die in the end along side Sasuke.

But, for the sake of your topic I will answer it;

Before Naruto became Hokage, another ninja will be a Hokage.

I pretty sure that Tsunade may die in battle or die of old age, don't forget she's on is 50's.

So the next Hokage will be Kakashi, why??? Very simple.

In Japan number have allot of mining, for example the nº4 is many times associated with deaf (wher is the 4º Hokage???), and the number 7º have also a mining, a mining of strength/luck/prosperity.

So, since Kakashi was almost entitled 6º Hokage, you can assume that Naruto will be the number 7 in the lineage of Kages.

He will became the 7º Hokage, after him, well, I don't know, and I think no one will never know, because I think that Kishi will end the story, by, with Naruto steering the village as the the 7º Hokage, or with his deaf, and if this happens, since he never became a Hokage, no character can succeed him. In this scenario Kakashi remains Hokage.
