It definitely felt like the end. But we still didn't know who Tobi was and there were some other mysteries that weren't solved, so I knew it wasn't the end.

The Pain Arc was when I gave up on the Anime and started reading the manga.

I'd have been quite disappointed if it had ended there. There'd be too many things in the series left un-concluded....if...that makes sense.

I dont see anything wrong with destiny. I just hate how they made them reincarnates of an ancient feud. I actually liked the Toad Sages prophesy about a child fighting a young boy with powerful eyes. That was epic. The Trabsmigration was lame.
Yeah but Kishimoto introduced themes in his Manga so that it didn't run on things like destiny. Then he later introduced that destiny is a driving point in this Manga.

The transmigration thing was forshadowed since episode 203/202

It could have just foreshadowed destiny itself not transmigration. Kishi chose that route to go on.

I like the idea of a destined fight. But I dont like wgat kishi did with it.

I feel the same. Like I told another user I like the theme of Naruto & Sasuke being destined to fight but thats it.

Rinnegan itself was introduced with destiny. And for good reason too its a divine doujutsu. Thats where destiny really should come into play. With characters like Sasuke or other dark personas and underdogs rising to the occasion admirably to stop them. This could be done without the theme of reincarnation. That straight killed it for me.

How would that arc be the last when you still have Sasuke on the Akatsuki's side as well as members like Tobi, Zetsu, and Kisame that still needed to be finished off.

Pain Arc definitely didn't feel like the Last Arc at all because for that mainly Team 7 had to be together again.
This. Whoever thought it was the last arc was on something. We all know Sasuke vs Naruto would have ended the manga and that arc had no team 7 or Obito. Then they also showed DSM Kabuto too lol.

Nah the interesting stuff was just really beginning. Tobi & Sasuke were way unresolved and beyond the attack on Konoha and Naruto's 6 Paths I didn't really like the arc.

Kakashi's fight/death was awful and the fact that such minor characters as Shizune had to be resurrected was downright lame.

In many ways the conclusion of the Pain arc felt more "final" for Naruto's character than the conclusion of the manga did.

But Naruto still hadn't resolved with Sasuke at that point, and since that was the main conflict in the story, I knew it wasn't the end.

Not at all, even after vote2, I was convinced that it wasn't the end of the series.

I didn´t think it would be the last one since we knew Pain was only a puppet of this "Madara"-person, who was not present there. And it was clear Sasuke would be there in the final battle, wether as foe or ally.

And I´m glad it wasn´t the final arc since I really like the war overall, I just can´t really make up my mind about the Kaguya-twist and the last 20 chapters.
