i have to go with itachi... naruto and gaara had kind of the same past only it took gaara longer to get friends... saskue just lost his clan..neji lost his dad..but itachi was forced to slaughter his clan and father and be hated by everyone from that point on

I will go for Gaara, he was told his mother didn't love him, his father wanted to kill him, he did not have any friends and he thought that his only friend or brother tried to kill him (orders of his dad). I dont think there is anything worse than thinking your parents hated you, you were only a tool, the village thought you were a freak.

Naruto at least was only seen as a freak.
