Who smarter Lawliet or Near?

Databook says Lawliet has 8 in intelligense category and Near 9, but watching series i think its obvious L is smarter cuz he find note book from impossible situation, Near won against Kira because of information he got from L..... Near was in way better position to start Kiras hunting...

Near is canonically more intelligent as shown in chapter 110 (How to read) but that being said,i think the author stated that L is the most intelligent character because the plot demands it or sth like that.

N is smarter (as in, his intelligence is above L's) but he lacks the other skills, that's why L will always be superior to him. You said you read the databooks, go through it again, you'll see that the author says that because of his inability to fend for himself and his lack of social skills, he cannot unleash his true powers without others

L is the smartest. Light only beat him because he had an advantage and full intel. L started from scratch and figured out who Kira is and what the Death Note was. Near simply continued from L's work. L is definately smarter than both. Near is smarter than Light.

He worked out most of the details. N was able to succeed where he failed it was because Near got better help and he built upon the work L had already put in. Even though the data was lost there was enough to give N a hint about who Kira could have been and how tricky and dangerous he was.
