Which is why I said generally. I was generalizing. Saying he died young doesn't mean he wasn't in his prime, it just means as stated he was still young. Do you think they'd apppoint someone hokage who wasn't in their "prime"? Prime IMO refers to when one reaches his ceiling or gets close to it.

Wrong, Minato was no where near his ceiling/ prime.. according to jiraya and databooks he had extraordinary talent and potential to become the strongest ninja ever. He was strong for his age no doubt, Hiruzen was old and he was the strongest in the village..

The daiymo all knew he was very young.. when they talked about making kakashi hokage, they mentioned him being too young, then they said he was even younger...

I dont thingk ANYONES prime is in their 20's... you don't just stop growing at that age...

1) Has hiruzen fought madara already? Does he know ANYTHING about madara's abilities? does he have knowledge of his fighting style, anything?

What's the difference between fighting madara and hashirama?
Well ,1 ) Hiruzen was TAUGHT by hashirama, knows ALL his jutsu , his style of fighting, and every other possible thing that could be used in the fight...

Just because hiruzen can beat hashirama, does not mean he can beat madara..

Just like just because gai can beat kisame, and kakashi can possibly beat gai, it doesn't mean kakashi can beat kisame..

Hiruzen was simply trained by the first and 2nd, and supposedly surpassed them boths in ninjtusu, taijutsu and genjutsu.. he's just better than them...



The edo tensei's weren't even weaker.. they look weaker because of the change from part 1 to part 2.... Orochimaru's edo tensei's were perfected..., power levels just changed.. which is how flower world etc came into play... back in part 1 , tobirama's biggest feat was spitting water from his mouth and making a water jutsu.. which had orochimaru and the anbu people in awe...
Now i can call like 100 ninjas who did that exact same thing in part 2...

I've said already if kishi rewrote that, it would be different of course.. But it's the feat you have to look at... Old hiruzen still bested 2 perfected Edo tensei's.... that's like kakashi going up against edo muu and mizukage, without them speaking and telling him their weaknesses

TBH i dont think there is enough proof to say how the fight would go either way its up to imagination and which character you like more...and people who say he learnt from 1st and 2nd this being true how do you guys know that hashi and tobirama decided to tell him every single thing about themselves would they be too busy trying to get him to use his techniques at best and teach him what they can? if i was a teacher i would go around telling my students all my weaknesses unless there was a page where hashi and tobirama tell hiruzen then i dont know i am sorry for being wrong ...tbh really we cant discuss hiruzen's prime either because its never been shown if its shown and its said hiruzen is better ill apologize and gladly back that up..but for now i say we leave it a draw because i can see this fight going either way

That's what most teachers do... every jutsu hashirama and tobirama used, he knew about it... bringer of darkness, edo tensei , everything....
Even TSUNADE knows hashi's techniques.. and when he died she was a kid... she knows about flower world etc..

I realize Hiruzen was called the strongest hokage on different occasions. That was part 1 though. This comment seems to confirm the retcon. I see no other way of looking at it.

This comment was made by Dan. Dan lived through Prime Hiruzen's reign. Yet he believes only Hashirama is capable of defeating Madara. The only hokage who should be excluded is Minato due to Dan dying when Minato was very young. So, how can Hiruzen be stronger after such a comment?

Prime is when you're at your best, but Prime is very much related to age. The average Prime age is from 20-30.

Yes i get what you are saying but we never know if those techs are used in a fight to the death between them two how effective they would be or if he would be able to dogde them...not saying he cant dogde them...really its up to who your fav is between them two atm..until proven othewise i believe its 50/50 unless u disagree them id love if you give me a fight scenario without being biased how hiruzen can beat hashi ..if you do and if you cant we agree to disagree + hashi trained with tobirama so he knows his techs (to people saying hiruzen was also trained by tobirama so he has an edge) also hashi trained hiruzen so he would have an idea how his fighting style is,also its not always the case thats why i say its 50/50

I don't find Dan's word to be reliable. He hasn't witnessed Hashirama's or Madara's power; he probably hasn't even seen Hiruzen fight either. He also doesn't know how strong people are or how strong Edo Madara is. He's completly clueless about this and is only going off of how Hashirama beat Madara.
