Who Killed Madara?

We don't know if Madara was killed and have little data even for speculations about his death.

The police force of Konoha didn't investigate mysterious deaths in their village- be it Madara or Minato. They didn't even pay attention to the ANBU and Biwako's deaths whose death should have arisen suspecions as they didn't died by Kyuubi's attack..

However I am thinking, what can trigger Madara to awaken Rinnengan right before his death? It must be someone very near to him Izuna!? Umm, this question is just as big as who is behind Tobi's mask (Although I feel as though it is Shisui )..

Who could be that powerful to defeat Madara?
All I can think of is, Izuna & Shisui (At that time no one eles was as powerful to stop Madara & Minato was already gone )

Izuna or Shisui, the only two ones powerful enough to take out Madara (Nagato was too young to do so or was he?)

Shisui is a good guy he didn't inherit the clans curse , And kabuto tampered with madra uchias body to make it better than it was when he was alive soo he may have just restored madras youth in the process

Mega fail. First off, he never expected to be reved by edo tensei. Second, he is in his young state because Kabuto made his edo special. He didn't say all that for nothing.

It was hashirama.

If anyone had the power to kill madara at that time, it would be hashirama.

We know that madara got rinnegan shortly before his death.
We were also told that Hashirama killed madara.

So, conclusion,

Hashirama defeated EMS Madara, hashirama was just going to give madara a final blow and at that moment madara suddenly unlocked rinnegan.(just like obito unlocked sharingan)

Hashirama got surprised, the battle started again and despite of having rinnegan, madara couldn't defeat hashirama and died.

I have three thoughts on how he died:

1. He killed himself (accidentally/intentionally) from overuse of the Rinnegan

2. Tobi, whoever he is, killed him

3. Just to add a wildcard to the bunch, there's only one person who should have theoretically been able to kill him in a match of strength if he had the Rinnegan. That person would have been the Third Mizukage. That is considering all of the Third Kage's are considered the strongest from their respective villages and he/she might have been alive at the time of Madara's death

Perhaps the 1st fatally wounded him. Its possible he knew he was gonna die. He needed a rinnegan so he could give it to someone (tobi or nagato) in order to bring him back.
