OT: it's a close call between kaidou and shanks, but even after shanks confronted kaidou he appeared at marinefold in record time and with little to no scratches. Kaidou has hype but it's not on shanks' level of hype unless shanks somehow got weaker over the time skip due to partying too much

we don't know how that all went down, we do know that mihawk doesn't spar with shanks anymore for lack of challenge, and kaidou was stated to be strongest alive during his reveal, what are you smoking

Whitey was definately strongest when he was alive. Sure, Kaido is hyped to be strongest human alive, but Krillin is called the strongest human in DBZ. Moral of that story, Prime Hiruzen is not The Hype. Going for Shanks, just 'cause.
