No kidding. One serious case was back in 2011-12. A girl contacted me asking for help because this guy kept sending her PMs pressurizing her to join him for his BDSM sexting game play(? I suppose it was online only). She kept refusing and he would still insist in next PM. I was a fairly new mod back then and admins were away. The girl too was a noob and didn't know how to report a PM. She had taken screenshots of PMs and sent me images instead of the pm itself. So I couldn't get how severe the problem could be. Still I gave a warning to the guy and told him to stop sending her such PMs and told the girl to contact me if he persisted. But that girl stopped coming to NB. And to this day I suspect my warning resulted in some more threats. After some time another girl reported a few PMs. And these were even more full blown and I forwarded the report to Zise who immediately asked me to ban the guy permanently. I wish I had done that first time around but that was my first time encountering such a serious perv on NB. The guy wasn't a minor- his victim's profile ( at least these two girls) said they were. Zise said he had sent such messages to more girls though not all of them reported it.

When a grown up joins an anime site to find little girls to prey upon and cultivate them as a *** slave and indulge in BDSM then you know how much your kids need to be cautious while at internet.

Luckily we haven't had any other report of that kind since. Though I know another guy who befriended and got some minor girl trust him and talk to him via video chat and then uploaded it at you tube and then posted the video at NB. .. Girl 13- 14 year old. I haven't seen her since either. She used to be pretty active and chatty back then. I wonder if her family found out the video. She was in USA or Canada but her family was from South Asia. So if they did they would hardly be happy about it. ..

These two cases were too distinct because in both cases the pervy members were otherwise popular and if you talk to them normally you wouldn't easily get how far they could go.

Woah I admit this was a joke thread but I was never aware of such people ever stepping foot on this site. After all this not only did you lose a member but they also lost there dignity due to some loser who could not control his hormones. No one should ever experience such humiliation due someone else's pleasure. How unfortunate those girls had to suffer all that.

I guess this experience taught you a lot how to be a better mod? You learned to take action instead of playing a wait and see game. Which can end up losing you people.

More experienced mod- definitely. As for wait and see- for most people waiting works better. For some cases people only get worse and more confrontational or trollish. That's something one can only find out later. But yeah in the cases of that nature as above it's instant ban now. Its ban first and if they want to argue their case they can go to the private section.

Sorry but things like this are the very reason I posted these two cases-- that people realize that such problems exist and take the issue seriously.

It's fine to chat in safe environment we try to to provide here. But people still need to be more cautious before giving out their personal info or FB and skype etc to strangers. The girl whose video was posted - used to give away her account to this guy - one of the silliest things to do. Account sharing is never a good idea. The guy had managed to get hold of so many accounts that belonged to other people that many others got banned for it. That girl also was banned a few times because of his posts via her account. But finally he didn't care for her either and posted her video. I don't know why - I only know that it happened.

We also got a few cases where the people involved were Nb members but they harassed the user on their Fb or other social sites/chat rooms. They come to us reporting those members but thing is when something happens away from NB what we can do to help is limited. Even if we ban the person here- the rule he is breaking are FB rules not NB rules and they will continue there. So we had to tell them to take it to that site and use the report button there.
