Toriyama wanted for Goku to stay dead after Cell saga, and Gohan to be main character after that and guy who will defeat Buu, that's why Goten was created in order to have 'little Goku' in the series.

Same with Vegeta, Vegeta wasn't supposed to be alive and become one of main characters later on, but again WSJ, because of popularity.

toriyama already made it clear in an interview that he decided against gohan being the main hero himself. no one forced him. and no one said itd make it more unpopular.

toriyama killed off vegeta specifically because fans liked him. in order to fuk with our expectations. he came back because storywise he was useful.
he didnt care about goku's popularity either.hes simply a goku fanboy himself.

whats with the idea that toriyama is some meek weak willed man being controlled by the big bad corporate bosses? if anything they were TERRIFIED to go against toriyamas wishes.
in one incident, they said that goku can't grow up.
toriyama responded "if goku doesnt grow up, i quit"
and his bosses are like "ok ok. fine. just dont scare us like that".

except onokis wrong. who saved the shinobi world? oh right naruto and sasuke and sakura.
who saved the kages? not itachi. actually it was karin (of all people). without karin, they would have rotted and fuking died from the beating madara gave them.

when your making a claim, there is no lying. there is no fukin lying, you go by what is officially stated.

e only flaw is that he gets too cocky and doesn't finish his enemy which often causes the enemy to get a power up due to Gohan's recklessness.
