Just take a guess, i would go with Pica since he got labeled as the Onslaught.
If that how Pica's ability works, merging with the castle, blocking them with moving walls, trapping them with it then it would Zoro's time to cut their way through. It's only a guess but i think Pica's ability heavily depends on the location and mindset. Viola stated they wouldn't make it to Doflamingo if they meet Pica despite the fact she heavily think they could defeat Doflamingo himself(since she bring them to him...). That suggest she fears his ability more than his actual strength(since i don't think Pica is stronger than Doflamingo).
So judging by Viola's warning, i think it would be difficult to counter his special ability, and i think his special ability here is to be capable to merge and transform the entire castle, something that will make him difficult to escape, defeat or counter, going along lines with Viola's fear in meeting him. He is the leader of the special corp for a reason. So my guess is Diamante is stronger under normal circumstances but inside a castle, Pica is stronger, but who knows? Only time will tell
Not saying Diamante isn't strong or what have you. But Oda always puts Zoro up against the enemies Number 2 or his right hand man. So I would have to say Pica for now. But from the looks of it from the Don family tree Pica, Diamante, Trevor, and even Law where all in the 4 card chairs. So until we see them all in action we cant really know for sure. One good thing thought Zoro has a bad ass enemy to fight now and I have been waiting to see him go all out since the time skip![]()
Seems like Diamante is Doflamingo's #1 guy in the card seats (besides Vergo)
But logically speaking Pica should be stronger since like someone stated above, he represents the spade and if it follows cards logic, it should be the strongest piece. The fact he is also the only card who was never introduced so far tends to confirm it. Vergo wasn't even a card to begin with, so he was most likely weaker than any of them. Law only stated he was the most valuable man under Doflamingo and he said that for a reason since through him, Doflamingo could know practically anything concerning the marinesSo what ? Technically Vergo was the right hand guy, did Doflamingo spawn a new hand within a couple of hours and replaced his most loyal guy just like that ? Normally Sanji fights number three but he isn't even on the island anymore, he is up against Big mom. Who says that Zoro is going to fight Pica ? Violet and Luffy (and kinnemon somewhere) are there too.
So this formula you've got here is all nice and dandy but it doesn't seem to play out in this arc. Besides all communication with Doflamingo went through Diamante, it appeared as if he was in charge of the guys in the card seats. That and the fact Doflamingo trusted him with the fruit and the organization of the tournament, are way better arguments to say Diamante is the more important/stronger character, then your gut feeling.

Where did Doflamingo say Vergo was his strongest subordinate? I don't remember. As for your logic concerning their positions on the picture, it means nothing. It's as if i were saying Pica is stronger because he is the one showed first(on the left side), or that Zoro is stronger than Luffy because he was walking in the middle of the group(Kinemon and Luffy) lately as if he was the leader, so basically a baseless assumptionLol there is no highest card by suit, those are home made rules and could differ with any game you play.
And it wasnt Law who stated Vergo was Doffy's #2 it was Doflamingo himself who said it. And of course I know he wasnt in the card seats..
It's also more or less in this diagram, which also is a bit in favour of Diamante since he is right below and center of the remaining card seats.

Untill they fight there is litterly no good arguments why Pica would be the stronger one of the two, where as there are some minor hints to Diamante being the main guy of the three.

I know the rule can change depending on games, but in majority of games the spade is the strongest piece and especially when talking about the spanish-deck and we all know Dressrosa draws inspiration to the real-life country Spain, so it's more than likely Oda is following the same logic in this arc
But can't you show me the page exactly? Because i don't remember. The closest thing i found is him stating he was his oldest friend, not his right hand manIt was somewhere near the end of the Punk Hazard arc that Doflamigo said Vergo was his right hand man.
And what the hell is a spanish deck ? The Spanish deck has the same suits as an American, German, Chinese and Japanese deck. There still is no order in them, it depends on the game you play. And I wonder where you found the information that Spades trumps other suits since in almost all games I know there is no order, for example in Poker a high card diamond doesn't trump a heart of the same strength.
And fyi, Dressrosa isn't based on the 'real-life' country spain, It's based off the Mediterranean region. Since last time I checked the Colosseum wasn't in Madrid.
Also the fact that Diamante is the leader of the Army faction, says also something about his fighting capabilities.
