Except Minato had back up plans to make sure that his plan would be successful (like putting Kushina's & his own Chakra into Naruto & giving the sealing scroll to Jiraiya) & guess what he came up with this brilliant plan in seconds while Itachi had so many years of time & still failed.
This alone put Minato comfortably above Itachi.

Your statement is irrelevant because Minato didn't have the advantage Kakashi had. Kakashi analyzed Obito's ability through the similarities that his jutsu had in comparison to Obito's. Minato doesn't have Kamui, so simple analysis wouldn't have worked. If it did, you're implying that Minato lacks that ability which is something that Itachi is very adept in.

The fact that Minato couldn't utilize a simple sensing technique to recognize Obito's Chakra signature implies he's a dumbass.

What's this "sensation" you speak of? Either you can sense someone's chakra or you can't. Minato obviously didn't, as evident in the manga. There was multiple things that played a part that you choose to ignore, and make excuses about. Use deductive thinking, your downplay to make Itachi look superior is downright childish.

Tobirama also sensed the weak-spot of Juubito which is something Minato couldn't do.

Killing village higher ups would start a war and we all know how Itachi hates a war), his only goal was to stop Uchiha from starting a war. Danzo gave him no other choice, but to kill Uchiha, since he knew starting a war was not an option for Itachi.

@Bold, you missed the point. Why waste analytical brain power for the obvious. Obito was the only Uchiha for Kakashi to possibly get an eye from in that circumstance. Kakashi had many encounters with Obito and didnt put 2 and 2 together until his reveal. Once again your point is useless.

Minato didnt recognize Obito initially because:

He had a mask on?

Maybe minato can't sense chakra that specifically?

Maybe he beleived Obito was dead and didn't make the connection to a vague memory of the way his specific chakra felt?

Maybe the mangekyou sharingan or the zetsu influence changed the way his chakra felt?

The simple fact is Minato subconsciously knew all along, but it was written so in a way the audience could be fooled.

My original point was that Itachi was used by Danzo to massacre Uchiha. Danzo might have ****ed up the plans to use KA, but still he made Itachi destroy Uchiha. As for threatening to reveal secrets, it happened after he massacred his clan and became rouge ninja and is irrelevant to the point I made.

As for what Tobi said, Itachi and Tobi had a deal that Tobi will not touch Konoha before they massacred Uchiha. Itachi died, so Tobi is free to break the deal.
