What's wrong with Obito...? I mean yea, he's definitely misguided. Sure, casting everyone under a genjutsu to create a perfect world is like socialism - it won't work, it's far-fetched, etc. But his reasons aren't just because the girl he loved died, it's the combination of the life he's led and the losses he's been forced to experience around him. Obito's life growing up was far from perfect, and he's seen both people he love die, and the loved ones of his friends die, and seen all the suffering around him. He basically cracked under this pressure/desire to change this, and came to the conclusion that the only way to stop the suffering is to recreate the world (basically the same as Madara). I think Obito is a great villain, because the reader can sympathize with him. Unlike Mizuki, who's only driven by his own greed, Obito (at least thinks) that he's doing this for everyone. In his mind, he's probably a hero. It's a situation kind of similar to Light from Death Note.

Obito.
So much destruction because he went batsh!t crazy after Kakashi killed his crush. He went nearly 15 years without seeking an explanation of any sort. And resorted to killing others he loved. And trying to destroy the village and his family. And he started a war for this one person. Killing several thousand more. And intends to force every one to live in fairy tale world because he couldn't handle the realities of life for a shinobi.

Mizuki at least wanted to defect for some selfish reason that seems fairly reasonable.

Mizuki had to be brought back in a filler arc to be made relevant again...

And then we have basically the entire premise of his "villainy"

Cause Rin's dead. Whoop-dee-doo.

At least Mizuki is straight-up bad. No moral dileemas or complexities there

Orochimaru became evil because his parents died
so according to you logic Mizuki is a better villain than Orochimaru

In a sense - yeah
There hasn't been shown a clear reason for him becoming so mean-spirited....yet
I mean, it's not like Orochimaru became evil in the very instant his parents died, he was shown to be cruel, uncompassionate and uncaring all the way through his childhood. He basically had no positive character traits.

Now, he's helping out Sasuke-kun find the asnwers, and i'm sensing an "emotionally misudnerstood" flashback coming up soon
