Who has had the worst Upbringing?

Not sure if there's been a thread topic like this before, if so then i apologize, but I'm interested to know what your opinion is.

Many of the children of the Naruotverse are trained to be killers. Obviously there are implications for training a child to be a soldier...also in times of near perpetual war it's often children are the victims, whether by losing their parents or seeing or being forced into acts of violence that scar them and turn them into monsters.

Kakashi's dad committed suicide.
Naruto was the village outcast for the longest time.
Nagato watched his parents get merked.
Gaara...Damn poor kid got mindmerked by those he wanted to love.
and Saskue mindmerked and lied to by Itachi.

Who, in your opinion, had the worst time of it growing up?

Sasuke, his whole life has been a life and he had to sit there and watch his entire family and clan get wiped out. To me naruto had it the easiest(not saying it was easy) just saying compared to the others naruto had the easiest life.

Naruto, Sasuke, Gaara or Nagato. In my opinion but then there are characters such as Zabuza, Haku, Kakashi, Itachi... It's hard for me to choose as every one of them have had horrible and painful pasts, as horrendous and miserable as each other..

nagato saw his parents die, and then killed 2 shinobi.....
naruto didn't have anyone from the start.....and has been ignored and bullied for an unknown reason to him....
and gaara killed his own uncle and lost his mind....

living your childhood knowing your parents and living your childhood not knowing ur parents are entirely two different thing.moreover there is kurama.so i will go with naruto.

Man...I made this thread out of morbid curiosity, and now after some of the responses I'm kinda depressed at the magnitude of childhood angst...so I snatched up my nephew and gave him a huge bear-hug and tossed him in the air til he giggled and screamed.

I feel much better now.

itachi chose most of what happened to him because of his own incompetance and poor planning. for most of his childhood, he was the ass-kissed genius of the clan and son of the leader. he chose to be distant and alone.
