Who had it worse in life?

To lose someone you love, fill yourself with hatered and be alone or to never be loved and simply be hated while being lonely...? I'd have to go with Sasuke, only because I know how it feels to lose everyone.

I say Naurto
Sasuke might have lost his whole clan and his beloved brother but so did Naruto the Uzumaki clan was wiped out before he was even born on top of that he lived the majority of life hated by the village and then lost sasuke who he thought of as brother
also Naruto had lost a lot of people and konoha to Nagato even though he brought it back Naruto at least understands Sasuke pain on top of everything he went through.

I think they where both equaly miserable but Naruto was able to make the best of the situation and slowly make bonds he never had even if he was kicked aside at first he didnt give up till he got through. However Sasuke rejected everyone after his painful experience only after meeting Naruto did he begin to reopen himself to the world forgeting Itachi and his pain I believe Orochimaru said something about Sasuke changing when he was around Naruto but everyone seems to. Orochimaru convinced Sasuke to detach all his new bonds by constantly reminding him of his terrible impossible goal of revenge. However some part of Naruto still remains in his heart even if he denies it otherwise Naruto would be dead I believe Sasuke thinks of Naruto as his last result or only savior. After the battle at the valley of the end they still both had it equally bad Sasuke consumed by revenge first of Itachi than Kanoha and Naruto consumed with letting down is friend and knowing he will do anything to save him otherwise he cant move on.

I have to go with sasuke on this. Come on now, not only did his brother, whom he idolized, kill his whole clan but he actually witnessed him kill their parents in front of him. Could you imagine watching that and knowing you're powerless to stop it, that nothing you can do can change anything that's about to happen? That would be the worst pain in the world. And then there's how itachi was forced into his position and therefore sasuke purposefully had his heart contorted and filled with anger and rage and false stories of his own brothers betrayal only to learn that above all else the brother sasuke loved so dearly did everything he did, to protect sasuke. And sasuke is still suffering from everything that's happened in the beginning of the show.
Sure, naruto had it rough but only for 12 years and im sure he didnt do anything on his own. He had iruka and the hokage watching over him. The only suffering he has now is the bond with sasuke and that pales in comparison to sasukes suffering.

It wouldn't have been so simple for those things to be "Avoided" as you put it. Everyone plays with sasukes life like its a chessboard for their own gain. Oro and madara are proof of this. You can't simply avoid things when you're hurt and emotions are getting ripped apart and torn to pieces by someone who's using you for your power. That's exactly what oro did and what madara is doing.

Well, Naruto had started with nothing so he really didn't exactly lose anything, but Sasuke lost a lot sooo I think I might have to say Sasuke, but Naruto had it bad too and so did Sasuke!! Oh no let's just say they both had it worse
i'd say its a tie. naruto was alone from the start and was treated extremely bad by the village.
sasuke had come home to his brother slaughtering the entire clan, then his brother toyed with his head and used a genjutsu to show sasuke how everyone died... then he told him that he never cared about sasuke and that he was only using him. then after that he was alone and had no one at all... no friends, family, or even someone he liked, he was alone and hated the world for what happened to him.
both of them had their lives change when they were put on team seven, built a friendship from nothing but anger towards the other... both in the end are equal to the suffering that was put in their lives.
the way i look at it is:
(Sasuke) to have everything that you loved and cared about for many years taken from you and youre left with nothing but yourself is one of the hardest and most Painful things
to happen to a kid. also having to listen to others discuss that youre alone around you and spending all youre time by yourself, that shouldnt have happened to him.
(naruto) hated right from the start because of something sealed inside of him that isnt his fault and is being punished by the village for is also one of the hardest things but to also have others point at you and say bad things about you and telling their kids not to have anything to do with you is also one of the most painful things to happen to a kid.
its a shame that these things happened to both characters, naruto has been able to accept the things that were said and done to him. sasuke is still hurting from the things that he lost and found out about his brother, the suffering that sasuke still endures because of itachi's truth has pushed sasuke to hate and revenge. if it wasnt for iruka telling mizu(that guy who tricked naruto about the scroll) that "naruto isnt a beast he is....." while naruto overheard what was said, naruto would be doing the same thing sasuke is doing right now and bearing a grudge against the leaf.
even though i said its a tie, i still fall more onto sasuke suffering more. the stuff about itachi somewhat changes the scale on which their suffering weighs.
