If you don't mind, I'd like the actual translation, not just a quote on your part. Everyone knows about the Juubi. But nothing was said about needing the Bijuu's. Ashura did have the Yang genes, it just took training to prosper. Hagoromo even states that after working hard, his chakra blossomed to be equal to Indra's. If Indra is Yin then Ashura is Yang.

The independent translations are available on NarutoForums and several others forums. You can easily google them. I have tried posting the links before, but they don't work here. Indra's blossoming chakra doesn't equate yang. Same power could have meant a multitude of things. When he never inherited his genes, then it leaves little to imagination.

It would not make sense either-way considering that Hagoromo split the Juubi on his death bed and Kurama was but a wee child. He only learned this cooperation through Ashura, and I'm sure the manga supports that Hagoromo stated "He unlocked his power through hard-work and blah blah" and then it goes into him splitting the Juubi into the Tailed Beasts.
