I think Near, people say that if L hadn't left his information, he would've never captured Kira. In all truth. L deleted all the data he had from his computers, and Near figured everything out himself, inferring everything L did. L made the mistake of putting too much trust into his help, probably because that was the closest contact he had with other humans in such a long time trust was an easy thing for him. Near, on the other hand shared only a sufficient amount of knowledge with his party and in the end put all their lives in danger, trusting himself and Mello. He successfully captured Kira, with the help of Mello and L, ofcourse.

None of them... Light honestly should have been caught before all of this by the Ex-CIA chick. In my opinion, there's NO WAY she would have divulge this information to him especially when she was insistent to go to his father. More importantly she'd never have divulge her real name considering the conclusions she drew.

The minute she gave him the second false name and he pulls his cocky speech he's ****ed.

Additionally L practically won. He had everything 99% clutched. Light just happened to have the advantage of having a DEATH GOD who just happened to fall in love to die in order to protect one of his loose ends that would have exposed him.

But seriously the Ex-CIA chick got Plot Walled beyond belief... It took a god to stop L.

End of the day: Near caught him.... So well done Near

Near compleatly owned light, but he had much more evidence to go on from the beginning, even if L deleted all the data. He knew about the death notes, and had around 10 suspects to pick from, less than L's 6 billion.

And even then, L got it right the first time, the rest of the time he was working to prove it was light.
