Sasori's Iron sand and 100 puppets are far too much for Neji to take. Plus all it takes is a scratch and Neji is down.

Deidara is the worst possible match up for any melee fighter. Stay out of his range and bomb him, Neji has nothing that could trump Deidara's arsenal.

Hidan may be the only member Neji could beat due to speed and taijutsu skill but it all depends on whether Hidan can strike his ritual if not Neji wins. If Hidan goes ritual mode, game is over for Neji.

Kakuzu has too much fire power and 4 hearts. It took Kakashi, Yamato, Naruto, Ino, Shikamaru and Choji to beat him. Neji alone doesn't even get close.

A heavily nerfed version of Kisame rekt Neji's whole team so a full-blown Kisame would murder him. I don't even have to explain Itachi...

We haven't seen much of Konan but what we did see was if given prep time she can kill any opponet 1 on 1 and given her ability to scatter her body and fly, things don't look good for Neji.

Pain is an obvious one and Obito stomps him in an instant.

In conclusion, the only akatsuki member Neji stands a chance against is Hidan but even this is sketchy in my opinion.

Edit: Oh yea, forgot to add Zetsu. Considering what BZ did to Madara and how much Intel the guy has, I don't think he'd lose to Neji. Could be wrong tho, the guy is pretty much featless.

Also based on feats Hidan CQC is one of the best in this series.

Neji has no counter for Iron sand or 100 puppets.

Even if neji counters with rotation how can he move?

the ONLY advantage I think neji could have had was cutting chakra strings but based on feats Sasori is able to reconnect from a distance

Hidan was keeping up with Kakashi, and from my recollection blitzed him with his Sharingan active once. Is Neji on par with Kakashi in the speed department? Hell no, and no such feats of Neji's speed round him faster, or on par with Kakashi.

Yeah, Hidan fights CQC, but Gentle Fist won't have effect that's the thing. Hidan had his head cut off, and was still able to talk, Hidan was able to manipulate chakra (to perform his ritual) after getting his head severed, despite the severing of the chakra network (chakra pathways go through the head, and neck area). With this realization, Gentle Fist isn't doing anything here. Hidan outlasts Neji, while Neji continuous to waste chakra trying to put down the immortal, that, or Hidan's immortality gets the slip on Neji, and when Neji thinks 64 palms will do the job, Hidan uses his sporadic Taijutsu to deal a fatal blow to Neji before he can react.

I don't think he can sustain the rotation for long enough to fend off all of the fire power Sasori has. Remember all the elemental blasts, amount of hidden weapons, number of puppets at the same time and Iron Sand to top it off... I highly doubt rotation could fend all that off. I'm with you on the cutting threads deal. While he could certainly cut the threads, Sasori can simply reattach them as we've seen him do so I don't think that would count as a one shot to the puppet. Again, Sasori wins with numbers so even dispatching few puppets wouldn't do much against a hailstorm of attacks.

As for channeling juuken that wouldn't work because in the Kidomaru fight, Neji was chanelling his chakra through the spider web of Kidomaru. In contrast to that, Sasori doesn't use a medium, he uses actual chakra. You can't channel chakra through chakra (atleast not in a way we've seen) since chakra isn't a medium. People shouldn't underestimate Sasori just because Sakura helped defeat him. (Not saying you're doing that.)

Hm, you're right I did overlook his performance against Kakashi. Then again, I watched that fight in the anime so I'm not sure how much of those acrobatics (the fight was extended) was really in the manga. It certainly makes me doubt Neji's victory.

Well, I'm going to say it will be overwhelmed because we know there's a limit to how long he can spin it and we know that Sasori can pull of long continuous attacks. Also, I'm not sure if his rotation really is as big as Hiashi's. Feel free to remind me where he pulled a rotation that big off.

The reason he can't channel chakra is because he needs a medium to do it. You can't use raw chakra as a medium for something. To transfer energy you can't use that same energy. You need something to contain it. (I've been to electrotechnic school so this is kinda obvious to me lol)

And no, Kidomaru's webs were material medium mixed with chakra, connected to his body. It was an actual sticky, elastic spider web. Not raw chakra. What happened there was 2 chakra streams using the same medium in a different way. Not one chakra stream using another chakra stream as a medium.
