That lasted for a bit though...Tendo Pain isn't going to wait 30 seconds to Shinra Tensei Amaterasu lmao. If he doesn't use it when he sees it coming at most it'll be burning for a couple seconds...

That's my point exactly lol. I never said the summons would destroy Itachi I said they'd exhaust him. After Itachi gets done with the summons he'll be exhausted. He can't spam MS, remember? 3 MS techniques is about his limit. Itachi is great 1 on 1. But against 6 with boss summons? His stamina will matter.

The point of this is that he'll wipe out all but two of them in a single shot which is going to save his stamina a shit-load of trouble.

Genjutsu takes care of preta path. And Itachi with clones makes use of Pain's 5 second interval and ends him.

He only needs enough Amaterasu to cover a few bodies. This, for example, is enough to cover all of the paths, and he didn't suffer from a backlash from this in the slightest.

Nagato was burning on the ground for a while before he used Shinra Tensei. Amaterasu burns slowly. Of course Tendo Pain will react to Amaterasu.. Itachi can only use about 3 MS techniques. He's not beating Pain. He can probably take down up to 4 of them. Animal Path alone might exhaust Itachi. Jiraiya has boss summons. Itachi doesnt.
