Both Jiraiya and Itachi could do it. To be honest, I don't even think Itachi needs intel. He has one of the most strategical and analytical minds in the whole of NV. Their secrets would probably be transparent to him after a short while.

Itachi is stupendous 1 vs 1. But against 6? He will get overwhelmed. Unlike Jiraiya's frog song that can take out all the pains at a single time, Itachi lacks such an attack that can solo 6 bodies at once..

Amaterasu technically could take all but one out at the same time.

Petra Path counters Amaterasu.
Animal Path counters the way he countered Jiraiya's fastest attack.
Once Itachi gets one body the rest will dodge. Itachi doesn't have Enton.

Nagato was burning on the ground for a while before he used Shinra Tensei. Amaterasu burns slowly. Of course Tendo Pain will react to Amaterasu.. Itachi can only use about 3 MS techniques. He's not beating Pain. He can probably take down up to 4 of them. Animal Path alone might exhaust Itachi. Jiraiya has boss summons. Itachi doesnt.

That's my point exactly lol. I never said the summons would destroy Itachi I said they'd exhaust him. After Itachi gets done with the summons he'll be exhausted. He can't spam MS, remember? 3 MS techniques is about his limit. Itachi is great 1 on 1. But against 6 with boss summons? His stamina will matter.

Focusing Amaterasu is different from simply firing it onto your opponent. The more you focus it the faster it burns. Sasuke rendered the Hachibi to ashes by focusing Ama, yet it couldn't do shit to samurai armor why? Because it wasn't focused.
