But Madara did absorb it :| the sand only acts as a defense by its self all attacks are chakra infused. Not to mention kisame can create a whole lake if he wanted to which would made all gaara sand he could potentially make gone. Once his sand get wet he has nothing



Kisame was trying to escape not fight. He didn't have his shark sword and was not at full strength.

His Shark sword wouldn't have made much difference there.

If he decided to uses his water dome 7th Gate would not be able to defend against all that. He basically has limitless stamina and chakra and regeneration. 8th gate my have a chance to win . Surely you don't believe he wouldn't have if he really thought that it could make a difference instead of getting captured and eventually dying. As for Samehada, Gai was using mostly ranged taijutsu attacks so Samehada to would be useful plus Kisame doesn't have 7th gate Gai speed so he can't reach Gai to absorb his chakra. He was gonna take the L with or without the Samehada.

If he has no air his attacks won't be as powerful. Not to mention when fused he has sensing ability that could help counter his speed as well

I think Kisame's clone used it against Gai during rescue Gaara arc and Gai did just fine. Kisame was aware of this he still didn't use it. He'd have if he really believed that it would work.

That's was about 40% of his strenght I believe and he didn't use water dome or absorb his chakra. guy had to go 6 gates and he was fighting the whole team at first.

40% of his strength doesn't change the fact that Gai fought him well enough under water while opening only upto 6th gate.

So he wasn't going all out either and Kisame was finding it hard to match 6 gates Gai's speed. There's no way he'd be able to keep up with 7 gates.

They barley fought underwater. It wasnt even the real kisame yet guy had to go 6 gates. His water dome is a completly different thing as well and he wasnt absobing his chakra like he did with bee.

And sure Gai didn't fought underwater but instead pushed Kisame outside of his water dome to Gai's advantage. He'd the same to the original too and the original Kisame sure knew that considering he remembered all of Gai's attacks.

His abilities are the same but not at the same level. Blowing away water is not the same as blowing away water held together by chakra. Underwater guy will not be as fast or as strong. A Weakened kisame was able to tank guys strongest attack hirudora in 7th Gate already while the clone kisame could not even tank a 6th gate attack. Theres a big difference. Fussed with his sword he faster and stronger under water as well.
