Days passed and it seemed that it was just yesterday when we had that matched but Kai never did talk to me after that misunderstanding, whatever it was.

It was Monday morning, the 1st day of school again, ?good morning? I greeted Kara as I sat, Kai was in front of her so I greeted once again ?good morning Kai? but he didn?t look back nor did he returned my greeting, I don?t know if he didn?t hear me but I guess he was busy.
Class started but still he won?t look at me, whenever I would ask, he wouldn?t even answer me; now I?m sure he?s avoiding me, more or less I?m being ignored.
I don?t understand but I might have done something wrong, I tried asking Kara but said she didn?t know, the only thing weird she remembered was? last Saturday
?Kai went out looking really excited, he said he had a date or something, he was going to pick her up at her house? but when he got back, he was really disappointed, I tried asking but he wouldn?t answer me and he just went to his room after that?
I don?t know what to think anymore, but why would he ignore me if he was having a date with some girl, unless? but it couldn?t have been me, right?
I tried to remember what I did last Saturday and all I remembered was that my cousin Mike came for a visit; he was 18, really young but a genius so he was always busy.
I wanted to ask him, I tried but he didn?t even care, for the past week it was like I was chasing him all over school campus.

Ma?am Simon called me getting me out of my so called flashback; she was assigning partners for our project. ?Elli! Please listen when I?m talking, you?re assigned with Kai? WHAT?! My mind was going blank
Fortunately or unfortunately, Kai and I were assigned as partners, which mean I can talk to him! Finally! But that also means that there would be the feeling of awkwardness
Kai looked at me ?we? are? partners?? he said looking at his feet ?yeah? let us do our best? I said now looking down as well
WAIT! He spoke in English?! I thought as I looked at him more surprised than him talking to me, well he does know how to, but he just didn?t talk that much before.
?Ah? Kai?? I said trying to get his attention, this can be my chance. He faced me now ??yes?? I hesitated but still continued ?you want to work together after school? We can do research at this caf? I know?
He was silent for a while, maybe I talked a little bit to fast ?sure? after? school? together?? whoa! No mistake! It?s all in English.
?Now that I got my chance, I guess I can ask him about it later? I murmured to myself, bro even saw me. Class went by like nothing wrong happened between us; he would occasionally glance my way and I would smile in return.
?Now I?m sure that invisible wall would crumble down!? I shouted to myself. I am talking to myself a lot lately; I guess it was a big shock that he was shunning me, good thing no one heard me, because I was in the girls restroom
?I never wanted anyone to shun me, I never wanted someone dear to me treat me as a good-for-nothing. It just hurts, like the most important part of me left me all alone? I was talking to myself again? but now tears were flowing down
Then the door behind me opened ?HUH!? I gasped as I saw Kara come out, I thought I was alone ?oh? sorry to eavesdrop, it was hard to come out, I was waiting for the right moment? she said apologetically
?How much did you hear?? I asked while wiping my tears, it was so embarrassing being caught like this, ?no, don?t, here? she said lending me her handkerchief ?it?s alright, I didn?t mean to hear it, I?ll help you ok? I?ll be with you till the end? it was so comforting having her say that to me.
The bell rang, I was feeling pretty much relieved, Kai waited for me while I packed my things and bro already went home, he didn?t want any partner so he works alone.
Kai and I were on our way, what surprised me was that cousin Mike was waiting by the gates, I guess he already needs to go back to work; I rushed to him then hugged him ?Mike!!!? I shouted, he was like a second brother to me, he didn?t even mind if I call him with just Mike.
Kai was sluggishly walking behind, ?oh yeah, Mike, let me introduce some to you? Kai didn?t look like he was wiling to, but still I said ?this is Kai, he?s my classmate from Japan the one I was talking about? now I faced Kai ?he?s my? ?yeah? I? know? boyfriend?? he said cutting me off.
We were silent for a while, well Kai has this depression flames floating about... ?We?re only cousins? Mike said breaking the ice, but that was so straight forward.
?WHAT?!? Kai said totally shocked now, I guess he didn?t know, and that?s where it occurred to me, if it really was me that he was having a date with, though I don?t know anything about it then when he came to visit he might have mistaken Mike as someone else.
?So that?s why? I said out loud finally realizing, ?ha-ha, I get it; you thought I was dating Mike, My cousin, didn?t you?? aha, I was really laughing now, I know its rude but I just cant help it, and all this time I thought I did something wrong.
But, hey, at least that cleared the misunderstanding between us ?so you gonna leave Mike?? ?Yeah, just dropped by to say goodbye? he said waving as he left ?Bye, Cousin Mike!? I said waving, ?ha-ha, just Mike is fine Kid, just as always?
