See my posts on the first page, Kakashi states that Chidori is both Shape and Elemental manipulation which Naruto himself admitted is much more difficult than the single shape manipulated Rasengan alone.
when did kakashi state this?

Rasengan only requires spatial recomposition, which means the user only has to focus on controlling one aspect, with Chidori the user must spatially recompose their chakra whilst simultaneously maintaining it's lightning element recomposition.

This shits on all arguments.

In relative terms:

Rasengan = A level shape transformation, D level nature transformation

Chidori = B level shape transformation, B level nature transformation

I voted Rasengan, but after reading the thread, I'm convinced chidori actually requires more skill

Rasengan. Even Sasuke/Kakshi couldn't copy it using their sharing an.

Both tech are equally required, such as;

Both require proper control of chakra skill.
One main point missing.
Both required each ninja 'element' and stamina.

Kakashi did said Sasuke element; etc, is exactly same as him.
Thus Sasuke could learning faster, and partly due to using his sharingan.
Kakashi train Naruto by quantity (clones), and complete faster.

Chidori without a doubt

Rasengan - Chakra
Chidori - Chakra + Raiton

The rasengan takes both the tree climbing chakra control and the water walking chakra control, both were said to be hard for skilled ninjas, just for the first step to move his chakra in all directions. Then Naruto had to learn to add power via high concentration on a single point while applying both chakra controls from step one. Then he had to do step one and two while he tries to spin the chakra and condense it into a spiral shape.

Chidori, Raikiri, whatever.
Interested in NB's answers.

Chidori overall.

It requires not only a maintained change in chakra shape but also chakra nature.

Although better shape manipulation is required for Rasengan.

Kakashi called Rasengan "Extremely Advance shape manipulation". He made Chidori because be couldn't add his element to Rasengan after all. So Rasengan is incomplete while Wind rasengan and FRS are the complete forms. Chidori shape manipulation isn't close to Rasengan's or else Kakashi wouldn't need to make chidori .

Chidori. Kakashi wouldn't be able to complete it without his Sharingan. Same goes for Sasuke.

You know Rasengan wasn't complete until you add your element to it right? Kakashi failed to do this so made the Chidori . Rasengan's shape manipulation is too high is what I think since he couldn't add his element but made chidori. Kakashi is hyped Rasengan up more than Jiraiya.

prolly chidori

there was a drawback that came with chidori, you can only use it if you're running in a straight line had it not been for kakashi and sasuke's sharingan, it would still be a tough setback to overcome.

Well the same for Rasengan, you don't need high speed but you do have to charge your enemy with it and open for counter attacks. Rasengan is an incomplete jutsu as well, it's complete after adding your element which Kakashi couldn't do. .

It's matters not what you tell me because when Naruto was learning with the balloons he had to rotate the water with wind

Naruto didn't know how to make and manipulate wind chakra. He used only his chakra to manipulate the water. Rasengan is an incomplete jutsu since it's all shape manipulation of only chakra. You need to add your element to it for it to be complete which Kakashi and Minato fail to do .

Chidori was created when kakashi failed to combine his lightning with rasengan. He had to create a tech that was EASIER to use, therefore they are either on par, or rasengan is harder.

Just because chidori involves both spatial recomposition and element recomposition doesn't automatically make it harder.
Rasengan is the pinnacle of spatial recomposition. Chidori is a failed attempt by Kakashi to combine spatial and elemental recomposition. Emphasis on the word "failed". Yes chidori involves very very very little spatial recomposition. It has no definite shape the user has to focus on maintaining. It's mainly elemental recomposition.
To put it into something more understandable, which is easier, solving elementary maths problems whilst watching a movie or solving advanced calculus?

Rasengan is the Shape Transformation at its peak, Chakra itself given Shape.
Chidori is Nature Transformation at its peak, Nature itself given Shape.

A good example of this would be Rasengan Shuriken.. Which is a Rasengan mixed with the Wind Nature. Which creates a stronger Jutsu. Imagine if the Rasengan was mixed with lightning instead, you would get some kind of Lightning Rasengan. Now split those 2 in half, on one side you get the Rasengan which is Chakra given shape, on the other hand you get Chidori which is Nature given Shape.

No contest chidori

Rasengan is incomplete

Rasengan is just spinning chakra, that even Kakashi off panel learned how to use it.

Chidori is chakra in the hand, melted with the right frequency of lightning element, shaped into a little spear.

Rasengan is just chakra in the hand, and then rotating it in a circle
