So, I was thinking about my favourite characters from recent anime I watched and I noticed a pattern - I almost always prefer the bad guys or grey characters over the good guys doesn't matter if it's Bleach, Naruto, Fate/Zero, Hakuouki, Hunter x Hunter etc.
It was already like that when I was a kid,
Transformers: I liked the combaticons
Yu-gi-oh: I liked Malik and Yami (who would be considered grey I guess?)
Dragonball Z - Vegeta
And so on.
The only series I remember that I watched as a Kid and where I liked the protagonists are Dragonball (until Vegeta hit the stage in Z), Digimon and Turtles. Nowadays the only series the only Anime where I liked the Protagonist is Kenshin but that guy also had a dodgy past.
I don't know why I prefer those characters. I mean, I'm not a bad person, I don't wish evil on anyone yet I still prefer the bad guys... pretty weird I guess ^^.
So which side of the coin do you favour? Or is it completely mixed for you? Do you think there is a reason for people developing a habit for either the good, grey or the bad side?
