Well, I know some of the anime you mentioned like Naruto, Bleach, Dragon Ball, One peace, Street Fighter, Pokemon and devil may cry.
For Naruto, the main thing that kept him moving forward was the fact that he wanted to be respected and loved by everyone since he had faced the death of his parents which kept a hidden part of his life as well as the the people's feelings towards him which eventually forced him to go for becoming a Hokage, The highest state any ninja can reach which also would mean the acknowledgment of the ones surrounding him plus love and respect.
Bleach is a bit hard to determine the reason that keeps Ichigo fighting for soul society. The fact he is both a kuinshi and shinigami was revealed later in the series. That could mean that bleach is about self-discovering and knowing more and more about who you are and what you are capable of. Ichigo have seen multiple changes in his powers through the series. It may started with Rukia, his first reason but I think the only thing that might kept him fighting was his pride of his powers and the fact that he became stronger faster that any normal shinigami.
one Piece is a little bit easier to explain because Luffy is simple-minded "I'll become the pirate king" =D
Devil May cry, I was introduced to this series through a game and I have never watched the series, but i can say that Dante is like the hero that has no idea what heroism is. it is the same with Goku in dragonball, both of them do what he does because it's what he does, they fight the bad guys, kick some ass and have fun :yeah::yeah:
For me Street Fighter has no specific goal, I enjoyed watching the original anime long years ago, it was amazing but I never was able to determine any objective but good guys fighting bad guys street fighting style
This leaves us with Pokemon, an amazing anime with lots of fun and new pokemon. Ash's main goal is becoming the best Poke Trainer in the world that why he travels anywhere his legs takes him. Eventually, we discover that he's the chosen one in one of pokemon movies which was pretty cool plus we got to see the three legendary pokemons united with the legendary Wind Of the North Pokemon.
