No rinnegan user has ever apposed a sharingan user's genjutsu, so you'll never know. But a bunch of other forums confirmed it to be a lie. And this one translator in naruto forum.

Most hype revolving around eyes went to Madara's page. Nothing for Nagato regarding the counter of genjutsu. He's not immune to it.

But in terms of that, he could break out of basic visual genjutsus quickly (he can easily disrupt his chakra).

As for MS genjutsus: Tsukuyomi can last a second if Itachi wants and revolves around breaking one's spirit in order to subdue them, but I know Nagato knows better than to look into Itachi's eyes. Not a factor then and he has a multitude of ways to fight him without looking into his eyes and a counter to pretty much everything in this Uchiha's arsenal.

Kotoamatsukami received great hype in the 4th databook- Shisui could cast it w/o eye contact, he just had to look at his opponent and they'd be caught under it (anyone in his line of sight). And it's the most potent genjutsu (Infinite Tsukuyomi cast with an advanced Rinnegan affected no Edos, but Koto allowed Itachi to break free from Edo Tensei), so this would affect Nagato and subdue him in a fight.

Out of the Uchiha with MS only, Shisui (with koto) and Obito (with kamui) would be good match-ups for Nagato. Sasuke/Madara/Itachi would lose with just MS. The latter 3 were really strong but don't have good enough feats to counter Rinnegan. And keep in mind Shisui could still use his koto in each eye only once a decade (Kishimoto added this nerf to cancel out the OPness of his MS lol). So the only one up to challenge Nagato at any time would be Obito with kamui.

ot: Rinnegan is better in the long term and superior in all aspects. But considering how Obito spammed kamui and didn't have issues with blindness until the War arc, I'd go with that. Kamui is hax.
