Which is better, Chidori or Rasengan?

Well, regular versus regular, I'd say Chidori.

All in all, Rasengan (if including all variants for both).

But in the end, they're both even.

Rasengan takes nearly 3 yrs to do the Basic but chidori within a week
And I guess u can surpass the master of chidori within that and develop a new technique in that

While rasengan is in your hand & throwing it.

Sasuke Doesn't have barely, showed any hand signs or voices that's it's activated he just does it.

If you mean in terms of power then the Rasengan is more stronger than the Chidori. But then again, the Chidori doesn't require hand signs and is quicker to learn.

But still, the Rasengan is better just on a power scale.

there are just different size rasengan and different number of rasengans and that it, it's not cound as variation

well, it goes like this

rasengan- chakra manipulation only, wich varies with different sizes and amount
adding wind nature (nature manipulation) makes it extremely powerful but not so or convenient easy to use

Chidory- nature manipulation only, which varies with different sizes .
adding chakra manipulation makes it very convenient to use and fits to a wide range of situations but isn't that powarful.

I like the rasengan better , he's more powerful but a less easy and convenient .

Chidori didn't come out on top, Naruto scraped sasukes headband and Sasuke got naruto in the body, it was more to do with accuracy of the wielder than the jutsus themselves
