hmm hard to compare.. power wise rasengan is better... its only chakra manipulation yet it is a fraction stronger than the chidori.. however chidori is more versatile imo but rasengan is deffinetly stronger

Chidori has piercing power but rasengan has way more destructive power, and it can be way more powerful by combing it with wind nature

back when naruto first started using Rasengan it was not deadly but Chidori was right from the start

Rasengan and it's variations have more destructive power, but Chidori and its variations are more useful. Chidori senbon for small targets like deidara's spider clay, Chidori eiso to reach an opponent from mid range, Chidori Nagashi to avoid close combat, Chidori Katana to increase slicing power. I would have to go with Chidori.

Chidori killed and hurt dealt more deadly blows than Rasengan but at the same time i love Rasengan. as for rashenshuriken thats not what i asked i love rashenshuriken i know its power but Rasengan or Chidori which is more combat effective?

Rasengan is better, it doesn't require hand signs, it have very good destructive power and it can be combined with an element to get a whole new technique.

While chidori have its own advantages, like it is much more effective against suiton,nullify raiton attacks and once perfected it can be used to unlock new techiniques such as chidori nagashi,chidori sword etc. And it looks more badass than a rasengan.

I would choose chidori over rasengan
