I'm pretty sure he lost to Naruto's ideals about the matter. That fight ended in a draw anyway.
How is this still debated?
Basically, because Naruto fapboys take it out of context and ignore that the fight ended in a draw. This scan proves it.

Sasuke only said that he lost, because he lost to Naruto's ideals. Not the fight itself. They were both on the ground, battered, bruised, near death, and missing one arm.
It's sad how you attempt to differentiate this fight of two battles when in the end Sasuke lost either way so why do you persist? Just be happy he didn't lose the physical fight because in the end he lost anyway just not physically.
Sasuke has 4 wins a tie and 0 losses as opposed to naruto with 0-wins 1 tie and 4 losses.
